Sleeping Beauty Walk-Thru Book Project

Post by PrincePhillipFan »

Recently in December before my next semester starts, I got an email from my desktop publishing teacher telling us our first project is to create a promotional booklet for a place or a tourist attraction. So, taking a cue from the original booklet given out at the original 1957 opening, I decided to create a similiar booklet promoting the new walk-thru that reopened. Some of the dialogue comes from the storybooks in the attraction, while most of the descriptions for the Maleficent and finale scenes I wrote myself, trying to keep in with the simple writing style of the books, and also wrote the opening introduction to the book. Also, I want to give a big shout out too to Davelandweb for allowing me to use pictures of the walk-thru from his website for this book. I highly recommend stopping by and seeing a lot of his wonderful Disneyland pictures at www.davelandweb.com

Anyway, here are scaled down rough draft pages of the walk-thru if anyone would like to look. I still need to go back and add captions for the concept art, the page numbers, and add a special thanks/copyright page, but other than that I think it's about finished. Any feedback or criticism on it is greatly appreciated! :)

I really like it! I like the layout, and it looks professional! I think you did a great job!

One thing that popped into my head, though- if you're trying to get people to visit the attraction with the pamphlet, shouldn't there be some information on the reopening of it? Maybe a page of historical info, like how it closed years ago and only recently opened? Just a thought.

Great job! :)

Thank you so much for the compliments everyone! I'm glad that you enjoyed it! :D

I'm not attending university this semester, so apparently this project for a grade was in vain. But anyways, at it least it was fun to do and I finished it. :p
