Tha's what I've been saying: *if* Disney is counting on both animation buffs and the general public to pick it up anyway, there is no need for Platinums at all, or for some films to be Platinum and others not.
Well one could argue that they'd rather put the effort into something that they know will sell better than something that won't. Hence why Fantasia will get the PE treatment while Robin Hood sadly won't. :(

That makes sense to me! :P I'll agree with that. ;)

Or you could import from Brazil, where it's R1/R4.

Or you could simply wait for its long-awaited release on March 24.
Oh, there was a legit NTSC release? (The regions mean nothing to me - I can just make them region free using a certain program that is likely against forum rules to discuss)

I also need to import the Korean Black Cauldron DVD... AFAIK it's the only one other than France that was restored/anamorphic AND it's NTSC.

Yes, it's mentioned a couple times in the International forum as well. ;) You can probably buy the L&S set from Amazon.com Marketplace (I remember Joe Carioca - a South American UDer who doesn't post anymore - once had a link where R1 members could import, but I can't find it anymore).

I'm just going to wait for the March release. After all, I've waited 6 years, what's another couple of months? :P

Well, I'm not really a big Lilo and Stitch fan. I don't even own the single-disc release... just Stitch the Movie, and that was a gift for my little sister.

I was more curious because I'm trying to "unvault" all of Disney's stuff, especially the ones only released in certain areas.

Though I do actually want that Black Cauldron DVD for myself...

Why did Disney stop putting in the single page pieces of paper for the Chapter Lists/Bonus Features yet continue to put in the stupid Blu-Ray booklets that waste MORE paper than the chapter inserts? I mean I"m blonde but not even I"M that stupid

Yeah, I agree with you there.

And my theory is that truly good products shouldn't NEED advertising, other than initially to introduce them.

Everyone knows what Blu-Ray is now, stop shoving it down our throats! JEEZ!
Though I do admit, those booklets make good firewood

Chapter listings were great, but I hated how some of them ruin the movie  (That's why you DON'T name chapters "The death of *****" etc.)

So today I was in Zellers praying to God there might be a copy of The Little Mermaid trilogy, but alas I was too late D: Anywho, I was looking at the other DVD's and I saw Pocahontas II copies... I thought this very strange. Anyone know if this is getting a SE re-release?

I, too, thought it was strange to find Pochontas II at my K-Mart quite randomly one day. I think Disney quietly sent it out again because it is tied into the Disney Movie Rewards "Magical Places" contest. It is one of the films needed to be 'stamped' in your passport. It is the same DVD only they removed the chapter guide and replaced it with a magic code.

It's resurfaced in the UK, too... I was surprised to see it (but refused to buy it ;)).

I'm thinking about going to WDW in the summer to meet up with some friends

Q:
if I was there from the moment the gate to Main Street opens till the fireworks end, about how many rides can I get myself into ? (excl. Fast Pass rides)
And how many of the FP equipped attractions can I ride by grabbing a fastpass ?

BTW, I'm well aware that this is not an exact science, so I just want to know your experience with queues at WDW.

Thx :)

Haunted Mansion Blu-ray question

Post by tlc38tlc38 »

Is it just me or does the lip movement not sync up with the words in The Haunted Mansion Blu-ray? Maybe it's just Eddie Murphy's lips (lol)....everybody else seems to sync up except for him.

Check the thread about slipcovers, I think it's called "The fricken slipcover thread" also, you may want to avoid the wrath of Scaps for a few days :P

Why doesn't Disney make a boutique movie studio like Hollywood, or Touchstone, and they can put everything they make that sucks into it, never to be seen again?

It could be called Clarabelle Studios and the first movie I nominate for it is "Meet the Deedles", that way, it wouldn't be considered a Walt Disney movie.

I believe there is precedence for switching movies around, lbased on their box office showing or popularity, like "Baby, Secret of the Lost Legend", "TNBC" and others when they have been hits or misses.
Where's the rest of Elfego Baca and the Swamp Fox?

It was created especially for The Reluctant Dragon.

They had Hollywood Pictures and Dimension Films for that, but when the Weinstein brothers left Disney and Miramax, they took the Dimension label with them, so Disney resurrected Hollywood Pictures for their genre films.

Do they even air Meet the Deedles on Disney Channel these days? I know they used to. And in Disney's defense, they don't exactly draw attention to that film. It was released to VHS only, wasn't in print very long, and aired on Disney Channel a few times. And in its defense, it isn't as bad as Unidentified Flying Oddball. Few films are.

Boatniks...

*normal voice*

In MtD's defence as well...I liked it. Thought it was a nice and silly lazy saturday film, and not one of Disney's best, but certainly not their worst. Plus, how often do you see Paul Walker in a comedic role? And the soap opera fan in me was just giddy over Eric Braeden's small role as Papa Elton Deedle. :P
