* Step-father, Ted Andrews, discovered her extraordinary, 4-octave voice.
* In 1948, she became the youngest performer ever to be showcased in a Royal Command Variety Performance.
* Had crush on young Roddy MacDowall.
* Came to the USA at age 19.
* Rodgers and Hammerstein specifically made Cinderella for her.
* The Americanization of Emily is the only black and white feature film she ever made.
* Often uses a certain four-letter, Anglo-Saxon swear word in private.
* Married childhood friend and later, multiple award winning designer, Tony Walton on May 10th, 1959 in England.
* Walt Disney visited Andrews backstage during Camelot to compare the musical with his film, The Sword in the Stone, both productions based on T.H. White's The Once and Future King. So impressed with her performance, Walt offered her the role of Mary Poppins backstage after the show.
