Yet again I'm boggled as to how people can add so many to their collection in one year.

For me I've bought

Pussycat Dolls: Doll Domination

That's it, my one cd purchase from the entire year. Actually it's probably the only cd I've bought in the last....decade, the rest I get as gifts unless those count too? My CD collection is rather small, I only have

PCD: Doll Domination
Classic Disney Vols. 1-5
a random Disney Christmas CD
Hairspray
BSB: Greatest Hits Vol. 1
Shania Twain: UP

That's about it I think. *sigh* Either you guys are crazy or I'm just cheap

Those definitely count!
Chernabog_Rocks wrote: Either you guys are crazy or I'm just cheap
 Probably closer to the former. Speaking for myself, I really love music and listen to it all the time. It doesn't take me long to wear out a CD when I get one. I also don't download music illegally, so if music is added to my collection, it's either because I buy it or someone else gives it to me.

I often load up my mp3 player with songs from my cousin or aunts computer, they upload the cds they buy on their computer. Not exactly the same as buying the cds myself but I never really have money for cds (never mind my dvd addiction :P) Given the chance I would buy the cds, but at the moment it's a tad hard.

:)

Now the question is do you even remember what the first cd you ever bought was?

I could be wrong, but I think it was Ace of Base - The Sign Image.

If not that, then it was probably Amy Grant - Heart in Motion Image.

EDIT: The Sign was two years after Heart in Motion, so it was probably HIM that was my first. I also remember having Amy Grant - Age to Age, Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA, and The Bodyguard soundtrack early on. I started buying music at a very young age and had bought mostly cassette tapes up through the early '90s but had an extensive CD collection by the mid-90s that now probably numbers in the thousands. (I also have hundreds of cassette tapes, but most of those are boxed up somewhere!)

Image

and...

Image

or they were these two, given to me as an early birthday gift:

Image

and...

Image

I honestly can't remember if I got "Now 4" and "Now 5" first or "J.Lo" and "Aaron's Party". I know for a fact that for Christmas 2000 I got "Now 4" and "Now 5", but I don't remember if I got "J.Lo" and "Aaron's Party..." in May of 2000 or 2001. It's been bugging me for quite some time.

I would not want to put so much strain on the server.

If you REALLY want the blow by blow, you can visit my 2008 CD Spending Spreadsheet

Since nobody will read that anyways, my year end totals are:

194 CDs acquired, $737.38 "spent" (I counted spending Amazon/other credit as spending cash in the sheet) for an average of $3.80/CD.

Its a lot, but I'm allowed. :p
