2008 Secret Santa: Post Here When You Receive AND Send
I went down to the mailbox today and saw that I had a package waiting for me at the post office. I got back a little bit ago and opened my package. Inside was a very nice card and two movies. Thank you Kelvin (DisneyKid) for the wonderful gift. I received the Vault Disney Pollyanna DVD and The Yellowstone Cubs DVD; I wanted this one and I've never seen Pollyanna so there you go.
I will say that you didn't need to ship the way you did though I appreciate the effort. I noticed there is a third gift coming but please don't ship that the same way. Slow boat would be just fine with me.

Well if I have seen it, it was a long time ago and would have been sometime in the 80's/early 90's when Disney actually showed their older movies.Disneykid wrote:You've never seen Pollyanna? Now I'm really glad I got you it! Let me know how you like it. When I receive the third gift, I'll be sure to tell you, and don't worry: I'll ship it via normal speed. Enjoy the DVDs, and Merry Christmas!

I'm sorry to see we have three participants still awaiting gifts. I hope postal service is to blame and that things show up today. Although from two of the reported ship dates, they'd be taking a while. In all cases, those suggested deadlines I provide (which are unique to each participant, based on location) should really be observed. Some will be more forgiving than others, but if your recipient is celebrating Christmas, they should really have their gift by then.

I vote: Postal....due to the fact that I remember hearing this which involved that 40,000 USPS workers were laid off in either October or November...although right now I can't find an exact news article at the moment because my internet is being slow....Luke wrote:I'm sorry to see we have three participants still awaiting gifts. So that might be one contribution to presents not arriving on time or for the slow shipping

I would definitely blame the post office. A few years back my best friend sent me a package. He sent it a week before Christmas and it didn't arrive till a day before Christmas eve. The service is painstakingly slow due to so many people sending presents and packages. Then there's the fact that the weather gets pretty nasty in some parts, delaying it even further.
I think at this point what matters is that they get the present rather than getting it on Christmas. It would be devastating to know that the present got lost or damaged during the process.
Hang in there!

I look at like this....while there are 3 members who won't get presents on time....I'd Say it's better late then never....I mean I think 3 late presents is better than 3 deadbeat senders in past years.....

I overnighted a new present yesterday after finding out that my original package won't arrive till January 5th at the earliest, monday afternoon.
Hopefully we'll get the news sometime tonight that it showed up today.
In the meantime I sincerely apologize to my recipient.
Stupid Canadian Post Office... *sigh*
I'd also like to thank CJ for my Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Atlantis: the Lost Empire 2 Disc set DVDs. I love them.

Nothing yet, but don't worry. I am sure I will get it sooner or later.Julian Carter wrote:PixarFan2006, don't forget to post here when you receive my card and other half of the gift! The suspense is killing me!
By the way, I'm guessing the card should arrive before the parcel because I mailed them separately.
