A nice selection this year.
The earliest present I got was not even in December, it was in late summer. netty sent me a couple "Doctor Who" magazines cause he figured I'd like the covers (Martha Jones and Torchwood!), and then surprised me and sent me a CD collection the Eighth Doctor's audio adventures so I could get better acquainted with the Eighth Doctor (as I've only seen the telemovie, which is a bootleg DVD I made since there's no US distribution for it!).
The first present I had this year for the official Christmas season was from the UD Secret Santa. Aaron Wallace sent me the 6th and 7th seasons of "The Golden Girls" and two Amy Grant CDs, as well as a pin from Lady and the Tramp: 50th Anniversary Platinum Edition.
From my parental units I got this really nice black zipper-down sweater, a new blue shirt (or as Kram said, "A new interview shirt!"
), a rather cool decorative plate featuring a lighthouse (a jokey reference to my love of "Guiding Light" and a nice addition to the lighthouse-themed decor for one of our bathrooms - the decor changes seasonally, usually with lighthouse being our summer decor.) Also got $200 which I have no idea what to do with.
From the siblings, I got a new laptop bag (with wheels!) that I can use for school, and two books: Doctor Who: The Time Traveller's Almanac and Torchwood: The Official Yearbook 2009.
During our White Elephant Christmas Exchange, I got a sixteen-month calendar with pictures of exotic island locales. I had been gunning for the holiday cookbook that was the gift-of-choice for the WECE, but decided to be nice and not steal it from my cousin (who stole it after it had been stolen several times over from his fiancee, who picked it up first!).
The Secret Santa gifts from the family included August Rush (from Nhat, the fiancee who wanted the cookbook but everyone kept stealing it from her), and Doctor Who: The Robots of Death from my cousin Gabe.
In addition, I got $25 from my godmother and a men's sterling silver bracelet from my aunt and uncle (I guess they were offloading them as my brother and a couple cousins got them as well).
Finally, I got Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules from my former fifth grade teacher (I've been observing her class for a college course, we were discussing Diary of... one day and so she got them for me as a gift.), a box of Hershey's Pot of Gold from one of the students in the class I'm observing, and a $20 gift card for Wawa from two students in the religious education class that I teach.
