I thought, so as not to clutter up the board with threads that get little to no replies, we could have a General Disney Question Thread.

You can ask simple questions here about the Disney films, theme parks, television shows, music, animators, Imagineers, books, DVDs, etc.

Hopefully this thread is allowed.

I've read somewhere on the web that at the Epcot, you can get a free booklet for collecting stamps from a shop, which you take around and get it ink-stamped at a station in each of the "countries". What does the booklet and the entire collection of stamps look like?

Also, I've read somewhere on the web of Stitch talking to people from vents in certain bathrooms at certain times around the Magic Kingdom. Has anyone here experienced that? If anyone has, what kinds of things did Stitch say?

Free? Um, no. They're at least $10 maybe $15 a book. It looks like the other autograph books, I'm sure you could find a picture of it on laughingplacestore.com.

No I have never heard nor want to hear Stitch in MK bathrooms.

OK, I have been avoiding buying the DVD of Wall-E because I hate the paper case they have for it. And I recall reading here a while ago that they're only doing that for the first 100,000 copies.

Now, I want the 3-disc set. Not because it has Digital Copy (I couldn't care less, really), but I want the second disc of extras. And my 3 disc set of Prince Caspian came in a normal sized case.

I also know that Disney tends to make their multi-disc sets "limited time only". Much like with Pirates 2 and 3.

Does anyone know if they'll ever have a non-paper case version of the 3 disc set? Or is it so limited that it won't be around once they've made 100,000 of the paper cases? I don't want to end up not being able to get one because I'm waiting for the plastic cases to arrive.

Anyway, um, isn't it true, though, that there's absolutely nothing that holds the DVDs in place? (the first disc, at least) That's a terrible idea for my collection... it'll become broken within a year LOL

Question: If you buy Blu-ray copies of the Disney titles such as Sleeping Beauty, Narnia, etc...do you get a digital copy as well?

Depends on what edition. Wall-E has the 2-disc, and then one that's 3-disc or 2-disc and a digital copy.

My question is why anyone would WANT "digital copy"

I just redeemed one for Prince Caspian, and it's horrendous quality. I could top it with a VHS rip. Seriously, just use software to make it yourself... save some cash.

it might be a tiny screen, but I'd want a digital copy to watch on my new Creative Zen MP3/Video player. That's why I plan to get the 3 DISC Blu Ray WALL*E really soon, I just wish it was on SALE.....

I have a question. What are all the bonus DVDs to be packed with Pixar films? I'm not talking anything included inside the original package such as "The Pixar Story" being in the WALL-E 3-Disc set, I'm talking about extraneous extra DVDs. I know of only two:

Cars - Cars had an extraneous bonus DVD called "Ultimate Ride" which included a special documentary by John Lasseter.

Ratatouille - Ratatouille had an extraneous DVD called "Cooking Fun For All Ages" that had four Food Network TV show episodes with good recipes.

What other bonus extraneous DVDs like this are there for the Pixar films?

Yeah, I use those Digital Copies on my Zune... the problem is with 2.35:1 movies (and others in a really wide ratio), it just looks too small on that size screen. Half of the already tiny screen is filled with bars!

So for the small displays I actually try to find pan-and-scan versions (Yes, I know I'm stringent on 100% OAR, but I'll make an exception for the "portable" versions). I don't think one exists of Wall-E, but I have fullscreen versions of movies like Chronicles of Narnia, etc.

So really, the only use of those Digital Copy movies for me is to watch them on my computer. And then again, that's what I have Media Player Classic and a DVD-ROM drive for.

And wow... I never knew about those bonus discs... we don't own Cars because no one in my family was so impressed by it to go out and buy it. And my parents got Ratatouille from Amazon.com, naturally it only has one disc.
Time to start raiding eBay, I suppose.

Thanks, Escapay. Both of the extra DVDs I mentioned were from Wal-Mart, as well. The Cars one I got from walmart.com last week along with the film, and the Ratatouille extra was packaged with it when I originally got it - which was the week of its original release.

I'm trying to decide if I should upgrade the DVDs for two of my DACs or not...

I own the original release of both Dinosaur and Atlantis: The Lost Empire.

I wondered if the Collector's Editions of both of these films was worth the upgrade?

Wal-Mart has them for sale which makes it easy for me to get them (I have a Wal-Mart gift card I can use).

Are the added bonus features worth it?

My only concern is walmart.com lists both these CE's as being full screen. Is this a mistake on their part or is it true?

If it's true, I'd prefer to keep the original releases that I already have.

Yes.

The Collector's Edition for Atlantis: The Lost Empire outshines pretty much every other two-disc set that Disney has released for their Animated Classics, including the Platinums.

Yes.

Yes.

The single-discs for Dinosaur and Atlantis feature both versions (widescreen and fullscreen), however the two-discs feature the movie in widescreen only.

Normally I'd say "the material is definitely worth its SRP, so any price is good enough". But if you wanna save a little cash and have an FYE or MovieStop nearby, you can always chance a look there to see if they have it cheaper in used-but-good condition. I got both of mine at GameStop (back when they sold used DVDs) for like $7.99 each, because I think when they were pricing it after someone sold it to them, they priced for the single-disc rather than the two-disc (gotta love mistakes like that!). Also, some online sellers may have it cheaper (try deepdiscount.com or overstock.com)

But since you're getting them because you have a Wal-Mart gift card, then go for it.

I don't think anyone answered my earlier question. (This is why I don't like all-in-one threads )

Is the 3-disc set of Wall-E a "limited edition"? Because I'd prefer to not get a paper case if I can help it, and I know the paper cases are only for the first 100,000 copies. But if it's a "limited edition", it's possible that one they sell 100,000, Disney will just stop making the 3-disc set.

Anyone know?

I could not tell you. My understanding was all versions of the DVD were going to go plastic after so many paper copies. ALL - including the 3-Discer.

That was what I had been led to believe.

That's what I heard, too... but I know the 2-disc sets of Pirates 2 and 3 were limited issue... etc.

And I'd rather be safe than sorry. But ideally I want a 3-disc set in a plastic case.
