I know, I wasn't doubting you. Just stating a fact. I, myself, thought I was buying a legit compilation of Studio Ghibli films only to find out it was bootlegged. Needless to say I was shocked - the films looked and played fine. The case seemed real. I found out when someone told me any DVD with 'FX' on the spine is pirated. My Ghibli collection had 'FX' on the spine. Now I feel like a criminal! 8)

And it's a legal print, it's available in all the major DVD chains. It has the Mickey Mouse 'certificate' on the side of the cover, indicating it's legit.
What are you talking about? I've never seen it in any dutch store anywhere? Could you give me a link or something?

Because it's true. Maybe you're confusing it with So Dear To My Heart, which is available in Europe but not the US, but SotS is not now and never has been available on DVD in the Netherlands.

That seems very strange to me. I've seen it a hundred times. Maybe it has been recalled recently?

No, I know the difference between So dear to my heart and SotS. I've seen the DVD of the latter so many times...

Or maybe I'm just mixing it up with the VHS... I'm relatively sure I've seen it on DVD, but it could be that I'm mistaken... I can't find it online now anyway, so... yeah, maybe I am..
