What Movie Did You Just Watch - The Silly Subtitle Edition

The Bear: I now remember why I never watch this film. It's so boring watching paint dry is more fun. There was this one scene with frogs..or perhaps toads and it kind of freaked me out because it was a sort of Pink Elephants on Parade meets National Geographic scene

Dr. Dolittle I don't watch this movie very often for the main reason that it has Eddie Murphy in it. He's so...overwhelmingly annoying much like Chris Rock (whose films I also tend to avoid). I think the story is great and all but it would be more bearable with a different lead actor.

Batman Begins wasn't that wonderful to begin with

I watched Holiday Inn (1942) again with someone who had never seen it before to get into the spirit of the season. I told him this was the first time Americans heard the song White Christmas!

I actually rather agree with this point, which is why I've been putting off seeing Dark Knight. I found myself reading a book at one point during Batman Begins.

The Dark Knight has a much frenzier pace to it, and delivers in greater spades. The script is tighter, the actors all seem more comfortable with their roles and with Nolan's different vision. I'm sure you'll enjoy it and I say this regardless of the hype surrounding it.

Had a weird movie night in the Junkie Home Theater, we watched to really good family film favorites and a real weird zombie flick, here's what we watched:

Benji The Hunted (1987) - Joe Camp had the market cornered with this character and I am glad that Disney bought the franchise and re-released this films to DVD. Just a really good feel-good story.

Oh Heavenly Dog! (1980) - Chevy Chase plays a bumbling detective who is murdered and then sent back to finish the job in the form of lovable canine Benji. Along for the ride is Omar Sharif, at his most evil, and the lovely Jane Seymour. This movie never fails to make me laugh hard enough for my sides to hurt.

Fido (2006) - Spoofy satire about zombies that proves man's best friend isn't necessarily his dog. If you haven't seen this one, check it out, it is outrageously funny and not a gory as most zombie films are.

Just saw Dark Knight. Good god is it such a long movie, and it felt like I had to follow things closely or else I might get lost so that made things feel longer. By the time it got around to the part where Joker is captured and Dent is in the hospitalI thought it was a decent ending...then it kept going....and going and going and I thought "ugh will this ever end? Of course I couldn't just pause the movie or get up to get a new drink because I wouldn't come back to it to finish (freedom yay!).

All in all it was an ok movie, I don't see why all the hype. Yeah Heaths a good Joker and all but I wasn't wowed (then again I'm very rarely wowed). Of course I don't really care for the character much anways, I'm more of a Harley Quinn fan

My opinion might change after a couple more viewings but I'm not going to be watching this anytime soon I just don't have the patience to sit through it again anytime soon.

This morning I watched The Age of Believing, the documentary about Disney live action films on TCM. It was extremely interesting. I've been interested in all the Disney films, but it takes me a while to actually watch many of them; I really enjoyed the clips that were in the documentary. I've been meaning to watch Babes in Toyland this holiday season anyway, and I need to make a point to watch movies like In Search of the Castaways, The Ugly Dauchund, Candleshoe, and other live-action titles I've bought during the year but haven't gotten around to watching yet.

I just finished watching My Favorite Wife, which was one of the best, most entertaining movies that I've ever seen in my life. I aboslutely loved it. I'm going to look right now to see if it's available on DVD!

A great movie, especially if you've read the book. Simmons as Desirée Clary and Brando as Napoleon are amazing. And it's a pretty good adaptation of the original novel.

The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters - A pretty interesting documentary of how competitive people can really get.

I caught Home Alone 2: Lost in New York on cable late last night. Kind of...I dunno cliche?, seeing it now after watching it often as a kid, but still a good movie. I still have my TalkBoy though.

Moulin Rouge

I had never seen it and was a bit skeptical if I would like it, but I really did. The cinematography is breathtaking and the modern songs are done very intelligently to fit the supposed time. I was actually surprised how well McGregor and Ms. Kidman sing (Kidman looks stunning in this movie, before she lost all that weight and botoxed her face away).
Of course, there isn't much of a story, but the songs and the scenery are beautiful and the acting is amazing.

Little Lord Fauntleroy
It's a Christmas classic here in Germany and everytime I watch it, it gets more hilarious, because some of the dialogue is just so ridiculous and Ricky Schröder's acting is (even for a child-actor) kind of bad in a very funny way.

Four Christmases - Though it had been negative reviews, I really liked it! I didn't LOVE it, and thought it could have been better, but I thought Reese did great!

THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON

I was lucky enough to snag tickets and see an advanced screening.... Wow. WOW. This film was FANTASTIC. I don't want to go into specifics, but it's the most touching, beautifully rendered, well-acted film I'll see this year. It's themes on life and death are some of the most uplifting in the topic's history. For the second time in his career, director David Fincher has made a film that, despite it's 2 hours, 47 minutes running time, never drags or gets dull. Of all the films you'll see over Christmas break, this one should be at the very tip top of the list. You won't be dissapointed.

A+ or a solid 10 out of 10.

Wedding Crashers - Got it on Black Friday for $3.98 at Target and hadn't got around to watching it, so tonight I popped it in. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be, but it was still funny and I would watch it again.
