Disney's "Shout-Outs"

Post by AwallaceUNC »

I was watching Toy Story today and was reminded of the car scene in which we hear a snippet of "Hakuna Matata" being sung. This happens from time to time in Disney movies, so I thought it would be fun if everyone came in and posted other examples of this off the top of their head. :)

You can see Belle reading a book and walking, during one of the crowd scenes in the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Also, the tea set in Tarzan looks remarkably like Mrs. Potts.

At the very end of "Aladdin", little Rajah's head turns into Mickey Mouse before he becomes big again.

Sorry...I had trouble wording that.

Hm, I don't really know if this one counts, but it's really funny if you watch it!

The part in Aladdin, when Aladdin, Abu, and Carpet where sent to a cold, snowy place. Aladdin starts walking, holding Abu, if it wasn't for Aladdin stepping on carpet, you'll find that he would have walked right into the pillar!

it's not that funny when I tell it to you, so you guys should watch that scene in Aladdin again!

Pirates has a few, like when he says "a little mermaid flopped up on deck and told me" and the whole apple thing.

I am pretty sure that this is in Hercules where a pelt of Scar is shown when they are going through clothes.

This page has almost all of the hidden jokes and Mickeys in every Disney movie. Although it's in Chinese, there's a lot of pics so you won't have trouble looking at them.

The Beast appears as a toy in "Aladdin".

Dumbo appears in Lilo's room in "Lilo & Stitch", there's a "Mulan" poster in Nani's room and a store is called Mulan's work.

Dogs from Lady and the Tramp (Lady, Tramp, Peg, Joc, etc) can be seen in "101 Dalmatians".

"Oliver & Company" also has cameos from Pongo and Joc.

Very good indeed, thanks for the link.

I wonder if all those hidden Mickeys are really Mickeys or only look-alike shapes.

Dumbo appears as a toy in a toy shop in The Great Mouse Detective.

"Heigh-Ho" is sung by one of the dogs in Oliver & Company

"It's a Small World" is sung by Zazu in The Lion King.

"Yo Ho - A Pirates Life for Me" is sung by the robot in Treasure Planet.

A few Jurassic Park referances in the Pixar films:

In A Bug's Life, one of the bugs roars and the sound is that of the T-Rex from JP.

Also, in Toy Story 2, when Rex the dinosaur toy falls off the toy car, it chases it to get back on. His reflection is shown in the car's side mirror, exactly like JP.

In "Tarzan", when one of the gorillas holds Professor Porter upsidedown, a bunch of things fall out of his pockets, including a small toy of Little Brother - the dog from "Mulan".

Mickey, Donald, and Goofy all appear at the beginning crowd sequence in "The Little Mermaid"

Fagin in "Oliver & Company" has a Mickey Mouse watch

All Pixar movies have cameos or references of other Pixar shorts and movies. It would take many days to list them all!
