VIP Discount Question

Post by chadhobbick »

I have a question, I got an email from DMC saying basically that since the economy is crap and DMC wants to continue to make money that VIP's can get 60% off additional purchases when buying the usual one dvd at regular cost. My question is this, I have tried to take advantage of this yet it's not showing up in my cart. Is there a certain price point of the original dvd I have to buy? I've notice that almost every dvd is on sale so I'm guessing that they want you purchase a high-end set.
I find you pompous, judgemental, and completely self-absorbed.........would you be my friend?

The movie you pay full-price for must cost at least $19.95.

I've been trying that but it only shows up at 30% off for both instead of the first one at the regular price and the second one at 60% off.

See on the homepage where it says the 30% offer? Look to the right- it should say "other offers". Click on that, and the 60% offer should show up. Keep on clicking it until it shows up as your main offer. It might take quite a few clicks.

Disregard what I said earlier- I just tried ordering movies, and the same thing happened for me. I might just call and order, I don't know. But I don't have the code.

Putting a $19.95 or higher DVD in your cart makes it $15.00 in your cart. With one $21.95 DVD and one $19.95 DVD in my cart, my total is $30, which is only a difference of 7 cents if the 60% discount was working. I just put in a Treasures set, and that also came up at $15.00 (the sale price is $11.98). Maybe the 60% offer expired?

*edit*
I just talked with a cast member on the phone, and she said to order the movies, and she'll place a hold on my account, along with a note explaining my problem, so the next cast member I speak with will know what's going on. She said to call back in 2 hours, and the account will be taken off of the hold, and the correct 60% off pricing will be placed on the items. She also said she'll send a note to the website person to let her know what's going on.

Okay, I just changed back to the 30% offer, and everything in my cart is still $15.00. I am so confused. Maybe the website is malfunctioning?

Well, I'm in Canada and up here it's $24.95 for the minimum for that. I had to phone in when I wanted that VIP Pin Book. It didn't show when I ordered my original but it's now on it's way. With the 30% of the entire order, mine would have been a difference of 1 cent.

I'm able to get the offer and like everyone else the 30% is the default.

Here's how to get to the 60%

go to the top where it says "other offers" and click it
the 60% offer should show up (for VIPs) on the other offers page
move your mouse around the discounted banner until the offer details show up - I find it easiest to start from the top middle outside the box and move the pointer down
when the details (typed words) show up start clicking your mouse away to activate the discount

beats being on hold :D

We all tried that. For me, both the 30% offer and the 60% were not working. If I put a DVD in my cart that has a regular price of $19.95 or higher, every title in that price range showed up as being $15.00, no matter if I had clicked on the 30% or the 60% offer. Every title $14.95 or lower that I put in my cart had no discount whatsoever. Maybe the website was just being wonky, I don't know.

Thanks, though, and welcome to UD, AliceinWonderland! :)
