True, this is not one of the movies that George Lucas wants to keep on his resume, but let's face it, as brainless entertainment fodder, this movie is top notch. It has a really good cast, the acting is a little over the top, and special effects are truly very good.

The locations scenes, most of which were shot in Fresno and Stockton, California are really good. I remember all the traffic jams they caused in Fresno on the two days they were there.

I will buy this, if only because of where it made, but also because I like movies that don't challenge the brain. You need to let go once in a while and this movie is really a lot of fun.

I loved the movie as a kid. Saw it a few years ago on TV and wondered why I liked it to much, but its still fun B-movie campiness fodder.

Howard the Duck?

Seriously.

I'm glad for the film's fans (all 173 of them!), but come on...surely there are plenty of films in need of a release/re-release that are more deserving of a Special Edition...

I for one will be buying this, probably as close to release day as possible. I was happy to find this on VHS at a pawn shop, and I considered going multi-region for this, as I thought there was no hope of it getting released here!

Now I just need a few more to be released:
Lili (1953) - Leslie Caron
Misfits of Science TV series
Batman 60s TV series
Automan TV Series
and a couple more that I can't think of right now...

Well, it does have quite the cult following. :p

I barely remember this movie but know I watched it several times way back when it was on HBO.

To me, the most interesting aspect of the movie was that Tori Amos apparently auditioned for it. I bet she's glad now she didn't make the part.

Those would be mine! :) I totally forgot about Misfits of Science! I remember really enjoying Automan when it was on, not sure how it would be now... what about Manimal?

OMG!!! I totally forgot about that movie! I've never actually gotten to see it but did catch some kind of preview of it years and years ago. Well shoot, now I'm gonna have to look for it.

It was really unique and its a shame that its pretty much a forgotten film today. Good luck on finding it...could be on YouTube?

I forgot about Max Headroom, that would be great as well...

I thought Hardware was out? (err, I was thinking of Hardware Wars, sorry..)

Luckily, I have Night of the Creeps and Robot Carnival on Laserdisc, though it would be nice to see DVDs of them someday.

I bought the DVD today despite never really seeing the movie all the way through. The feature about the release of the movie was interesting.
