Anyways, tomorrow is Thanksgiving, a day dedicated to showing gratitude towards the things you have received in life. So, in honor of this celebration post here the things you are grateful for, both good and bad and how you plan to honor it.
Remember, gratitude is something that should happen all year long. Keep that in mind.
Anyways, here are the things I am grateful for:
My family: Its important to always honor my family. Even though we became an extended family when my sister moved on and has caused some awkward moments I am grateful for the help, love and support I've received. While many families would have kicked their unemployed sons out of their home my family has been patient and kind to put up with my presence while I work hard towards finding a job. I wouldn't be who I am today without them
My cats: I give thanks for having such fun, furry companions and for all the love and protection they receive from above. Despite their annoyance I still love them greatly and wish nothing but the best.
My friends: I'll be the first to confess that I don't have that many friends in real life. But the few that I have are very loyal and miss them greatly. Yes, I've ranted about our clashes, especially since it made me question their loyalty, but after talking and thinking about things are not as bad as they seem. I'm also grateful for the friends that I made when I was working as a computer teacher for an adult learning program.
The problems and issues I have faced throughout the year: It might be weird to be thankful for the stuff that made you sad, upset and made your life a living hell. But I am grateful because these events happen in life for a reason. They make us wiser, more patient and stronger.
In my case, I've been un-employed for nearly a whole year. After graduation I faced a lot of issues that preventing me from being a teacher. Despite the headaches I've learned a lot about handling these types of issues, to be prepared and work ahead of time. Its been hard, especially when you feel useless and penniless. But thank the lord my family is doing fine.
I've also lost an uncle and an aunt on my mother's side of the family, one due to a heart attack and the other to cancer. I pray that wherever they are they are enjoying a better life. I shall honor their presence tomorrow.
But its been a good year as well. My mother has finally retired from the work that made her suffer for many years and despite her herniated discs she is just a lively as she ever was.
Ultimate Disney: While I joined this site last year I didn't become a full time member till recently. The reason why is because the last site I was attending was being filled with extreme negativity, stupidity and ignorance. The site has been great for all types of discussion and even if I've encountered some heated debates and discussion I came to admire a lot of people.
For the record, I returned to that old forum and its been changed drastically for the better.
That's it for me. What are YOU grateful for?
