Stores Closing

Post by JamesDFarrow »

It seems there are lots of stores that are closing due to the "recession" and the fact that people are not shopping. If you have any "gift cards" from these stores, make sure you use them, or you will lose them !

Watch those store money cards and gift cards.. and credit slips! Stores that informed the Security Exchange of closing plans between October 2008 and January 2009.

P.S. I cannot attest to the accuracy of this list so you will have to determine that yourselves. As well as which locations.

Circuit City stores... most recent (? how many)

Ann Taylor- 117 stores nationwide are to be closed

We just had a meeting at my store that talked a bit about this. There are going to be a lot of stores closing but they aren't closing them all. Instead the stores that remain are going to be kind of refitted to be something like destinations themselves. They want to form The Disney Store to be a lot more like they are in Europe. Overall, I would expect any store to downsize, but for something like the disney store it isn't marking the end.
