Walt Disney Treasures
Thankfully, I have all of the Treasure volumes.
When this series began, I was only interested in "The Silly Symphonies," and ordered it to receive for Christmas from my wife -- yes, I ordered it and handed it to my wife to wrap!
When Wave 2 came along, I eventually purchased "The Complete Goofy," because I had enjoyed those cartoons as a kid.
"Behind the Scenes of the Disney Studios" was probably my next purchase, and I purchased all but "Tomorrowland" when Wave 3 was released. About that time, I started going back and purchasing older volumes.
I purchased "Davy Crockett" and "Mickey Mouse Color V1" from private sellers/eBay (DC was a new item; MMV1 was used with a rusty tin), and during Wave 3 or 4, Walmart had a surpising cardboard display with some earlier titles. I scooped various volumes up, and soon had all but "Tomorrowland" and "Pluto V1." I went ahead and purchased a sealed "Mickey Mouse BW V1 that was probably split from a Costco bundle, which means that it came with no tin.
From that point forward, I purchased every Wave's title, figuring it was best to buy them the day they were released (price and availability... and best pick for limited/no dents!), and finally decided to buy "Tomorrowland" and "Pluto V1" ... because I might as well have the complete library.
I am a BIG fan of Disney's vintage live-action works and, in that vein, I've purchased titles I'd never seen/heard of, and ended up with a satisifying library!! There's not one Treasure title I regretted purchasing!

Been collecting since Volume 1. I remember going to that Disney Store in the mall in Albuquerque to pick up all 4 of them and how excited I was. I have had the opportunity to pick up all 28, but have passed on a few. These are they:
Wave 4
Mickey Mouse Club
Wave 5
Spin and Marty
El Fuego Baca/Swamp Fox
Wave 6
Hardy Boys
Wave 8
Annette
So, of the 5 I passed on, 3 were because they didn't include all episodes like was done for Davy Crockett and Dr. Syn. The others (MMC and Annette), I just didn't have a strong enough interest to pay $20 apiece for and although I am mostly a completionist, I couldn't really force myself to get them.
Now, if in the future they release another set of El Fuego Baca/Swamp Fox, Hardy Boys, and/or Spin and Marty, I will likely pick them up. Fortunately, even though these are a couple years old, they are pretty easy to find, even in BaM stores like Best Buy.

All of them but one. At one point I did own 4 different sets but after a flood claimed a bunch of my DVDs a while back, the only one I've replaced is "On the Front Lines". I'll probably buy the 4 Donald sets again eventually, but I own all my favourite Donald shorts on OtF and a few DVDs where they've been included as bonuses so I'm not too worried about picking them up since they'd be nothing more than expensive bench warmers.

I have all but the Legacy Collection series; True Life Adventures, (since littlefuzzy is counting them) and this newest wave. I've received every wave of them for Christmases in the past (with Wave Three being incredibly generously being counted as a 'very late' gift). I can't wait for this year's batch!

Speaking of the Legacy True-Life Adventures, I just realized I also have vol. 2 (Walt Disney's Legacy Collection: True-Life Adventures, Volume 2 - Lands of Exploration).
It was part of my most recent DMC order, and I guess I just forgot to add it to my DVDAF list!
Hmm, I wonder how many other DVDs I never remembered to add in...

By 2001 I'd been collecting the classic animated shorts for several years and I had a pretty good collection, but it became increasingly harder to find shorts that I hadn't got already. So when the Treasures were announced I immediately saw that this was basically the sort of release I'd been waiting for for years. The animated material was my primary interest, but I'd read a lot of Disney history so I could also appreciate the other titles included in the WDT line. I haven't missed a single tin (including the Legacy sets).

The "Spin and Marty" and "Hardy Boys" sets are complete stories. Sure, The Mickey Mouse Club had two additional "Spin" serials and one more "Hardy Boys" story, but each one stands alone with their own numerous episodes.thomashton wrote:...Now, if in the future they release another set of El Fuego Baca/Swamp Fox, Hardy Boys, and/or Spin and Marty, I will likely pick them up. There are two Walt Disney Treasures Trade Paper backs out now with one coming in December and another in July. I have yet to have seen them in any store outside of Disney property so it may just be easier to order them. I have the first one (Walt Disney Treasures - Disney Comics: 75 Years of Innovation) and I enjoy it quite a bit. It's worth picking up.Barbossa wrote:Just curious, but has anybody got any of the Walt Disney Treasures comic books? I've only seen them online, so far not in any stores around here. The covers look just like the DVD tins.

Disneyland USA
Mickey Mouse Club
Spin and Marty
Your Host, Walt Disney
The Hardy Boys
Disneyland: Secrets, Stories & Magic
Annette
JUST ANOTHER 27 YEAR OLD DISNEY BUFF.....
I would say that of all the Treasures that I almost didn't buy and then relented, Tomorrowland is by far my favourite. Even if you're not a massive fan of the live action stuff, there's some superb Ward Kimball animation in the episodes. Having now seen it, I'd hate to be without it.

More Silly Symphonies
The Chronological Donald Volume 3
The Adventures of Oswald The Lucky Rabbit
Annette (which I will get)
The Chronological Donald Volume 4

Here is what I'm missing:
Wave 1: Davy Crockett
Wave 3: On the Front Lines, Tomorrowland
Wave 4: The Mickey Mouse Club
Wave 5: The Adventures of Spin & Marty, Elfego Baca and the Swamp Fox
There is only Tomorrowland that I want to buy eventually. I'm not interested by the others.
I don't have any of the Wave 8 right now, but I'm going to the shopping center this afternoon (or tomorrow) to get The Chronological Donald 4. I'm not sure yet if I want to get the two others.

I missed out on the early sets. If I had been collecting back then, I surely would have gotten:
Mickey Mouse in Living Color 1 & 2
Goofy
Davy Crockett
I currently have a total of 7 Treasures. I enjoy all the ones I have. I'm not sure if I'll get any from this wave, but if I do, it will probably be the Annette Treasure.

Well, I picked up Dr. Syn and The Hardy Boys sets today, I even managed to get them 2 for 40... HOWEVER, don't expect to get the same deal, as it didn't ring up that way. I asked them if there was a chance I could get that, since I already bought the other 2 sets from them. Most CSRs/Managers probably wouldn't do this, since the ad only showed the Wave 8 tins. Plus, it probably helps that they know me by name at my local Best Buy...
Speaking of WDT and Best Buy, for those who are missing Mickey Mouse in Black & White vol. 2, my Best Buy had 3-4 copies. You might check your local Best Buys, order it online, or see if they could ship one to your store (if you can't buy online.)

I am missing Mickey Mouse in Black and White Volume 1.
I will get it pretty soon...but it might be after Christmas (I am trying to not be overly selfish for the holidays). I began around wave 3 or 4 and bought earlier ones from ebay or wherever they were in stock still. SOON I WILL HAVE THEM ALL!!!
I am also missing 3 of the True Life Adventures...will also get them eventually.
