Disney movies on HDTV channels [Aka. The HD-DISNEY THREAD]

Hi everybody!

It's just come to my attention that some HD channels have shown disney movies in HD... Movies that has not yet been released on Blu-Ray...

I know for a fact that at least Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, A Bug's Life, Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Tarzan, The Lion King and Beauty and The Beast has been shown on HDTV...

I live in Denmark and we don't have that many HD channels yet... So I would like to know what you all think of these airings - how was the quality?? Also the transfers they are showing on these channels are they true HD or just upscaled SD content...

I think it's quite interesting that movies are shown in HD way before their BD release...

Well, sorry I'm just a sucker for HD content now... I'm totally blown away by how clear and sharp the Sleeping Beauty BD looks... (I've only seen caps so far, the BD is not coming out here before November 18th... SO exited!

I saw Return To Neverland on HDTV, and it just seemed like an upscaled SD version.

It was great though. I missed the start, fell asleep in the middle, and still thoroughly enjoyed the film.

Ok, I though so too... I don't think Disney has supplied tv networks (except for maybe Disney Channel) with true HD transfers yet... The only HD transfers that are currently out of the Vault is probably Cars, Ratatouille, Sleeping Beauty, Tinkerbell and some Pixar shorts as they have all been out on BD...
