I blame lack of sales on the fact you never see any kind of commercial or advertisements about the Treasures, plus it can be hard to track them down here where I live we only get two of the three treasures in our stores and only one or two stores in our whole town put them in stock which is really low as it is.

Wouldn't that get people interested having a commercial showing the Treasures and showing what's on them etc. I mean they can take the time to do it for the Princess films so why not this? Or even have the Disney Surfers do a short review on them. Surely with a bit of advertising it could get some interest? How are people supposed to buy them if they don't even know they're coming out, it would be like having a party but not sending the invitations.

Well, there's definitely going to be at least one copy of the Donald Vol. 4 Treasures set in Malta anyway. I'm preordering now ... I don't wanna be caught without it (I'm still missing More Silly Symphonies and Mickey in Black and White Vol. 1 and 2 and I don't know what I'm gonna do).

As you know, the line has already been cancelled once before; so I suspect some people at Disney are in broad agreement with you there.

My impression is that it's trudge trudge trudge to the end of a project started years ago, for the sake of corporate goodwill as much as anything else. At least as a side benefit the majority of the short subjects have been remastered for future exploitation.

Pre-ordered my Chronological Donald Vol.4.

Not taking any chances with numbers that low. There are going to be a lot of dissapointed people if you wait.

I just read this whole thread looking for answers, and I can't find them.

Why is there no press release? Will there be one out soon?

And, I looked on IMDB and can't find the answer to this: How long (approximately) is each "Annette" episode? As bummed as I am about "Destino" getting the boot, I've been reading about the "Annette" series, and I think that I'd really like it, but I'm curious as to how long each episode is...I know that it was a part of the "Mickey Mouse Club", so each episode must be 15-20 minutes long, right?

I wonder if we'll ever see the 2 sequels to Spin & Marty?

YEP, they are about 20 minutes each in length. If you enjoy classic TV Shows from that era (Dennis the Menice, Lassie, Leave it to Beaver) you will really enjoy the Annette Serial. Its written and plays out alot like those shows. I hope you get it and enjoy it!

Wow, that's low. I wonder if we'll even get any at the local Future Shop next week. I'm going to be getting Donald and Dr. Syn, but I'll pass on Annette. I'm just not familiar enough with her. I know she was a Mouseketeer and all, but you know, I wasn't born in that generation.

HAHA well if you werent born in the generation of Annette and the MMC then you werent born in the generation of Dr Syn or when the Donald Duck shorts were playing in theaters. You should give the Annette series a try. Then maybe you will get an idea of what the big deal about Annette really is. She was the American Sweetheart of a entire generation and is a great example and ispiration for all ppl today.

I really hope we do carolinakid. If Disney is not seeing enough profit on physical dvd, maybe they will offer them through itunes.

AWSOME I hope you get it and the other two you mentioned too. Given that this wave is being released in a very limited number of copies Id put the volumes from this years release that you want at the top of your list. The only treasures volume I dont have is the Davy Crockett volume and now its OOP and very expensive on the second hand market. I bet the same thing may happen with these volumes given so few are being produced.

Well that's nice of them to do that; especially for those of you that only want 2 sets. Do you know if they have a sale for those of us that want all three sets? I have them pre-ordered elsewhere but I'd love to get them on day 1 so that I ensure I have them.

If you need to buy 2 to get the $20 each price, then it makes business sense...they know that some people will buy all 3, and they'll have to pay full price for the third. It stinks, but it does make business sense (in the sense that they want to make as much money as they can while getting the customers to shop in their store).

:( Obligatory Bitch and Moan about the Lack of the 3 solo Chip an' Dale shorts. In goes my order for used copies of CCF Starring Chip an' Dale and the Davey Crockett Two-Fer :(

I agree with the comment above about this being a trudge to complete a non-profitable project for the sake of corporate goodwill, and if this is the end, I have nothing but praise and thanks for Leonard Maltin and those involved in this monumental project. Every single Disney Theatrical Short has now been preserved forever on DVD and that is a glorious gift that beat all the odds against it happening. As far as the TV/non-short stuff goes, my reaction has ranged from, at a minimum, enjoyment, to having my mind blown (the Mars episode of Tomorrowland anyone?). Sincerest thanks!!!

And interesting to hear that Dr Syn has been mastered in HD from the original negatives (waits for someone to whine about no blu-ray)

Here's a quote from the article that merlinjones posted the link to:

"The Mickey Mouse Club – The first and last episodes of the popular television program"

I had been under the impression (as had others here) that the episodes included would be the ones from the first and last time the "Annette" serial was shown...which makes more sense than including the very first and very last episodes of MMC...if "Annette" was shown on the last episode, then that makes sense...

Off to watch the videos now- thanks so much for posting that link, merlinjones!!! :)

That portion of the Donald short was the most entertaining thing I've seen in a while!!! I want to see the whole thing...maybe I should look into getting the Donald sets...

Gladly! Why not make the Treasures go Blu if the Platinums have?

If Dr Syn, was released on blu-ray I think I would honestly crap my pants with joy.

I have a question (probably a silly one): Have all the previous Treasure Waves gone out of print? Have all the Treasures even ther resent ones like Wave 6 have gone back to the vault? I'm not asking if there is stock left on various outlets or on Amazon but if all the previous Waves are OOP...
