I also would like everyone, no matter who you (wanted to) voted for to sit back and realize...we are living in a major moment in history. This is probably what it was like in 1920 when the women won the right to vote. For years they were told, "It would never happen", and yet, they stepped up to the plate, they fought, and they won! All it takes is one person, to break down the walls and open those doors to get there. Its an uphill battle, but being the first, and being witness to that first is an amazing thing. And to be an American right now, to come so far, to see a man of mixed race take the White House, so hugely is just amazing. I have never been so proud to be an American that in this moment.

Terrible choice America has made. Absolutely terrible!
Oh well! When those in America who voted for Barack Hussein Obama wake up and realize that they have made a huge mistake, it will be too late, and those who voted for Barack Hussein Obama will deserve whatever they have coming to them!
Those who voted for Barack Hussein Obama have been deceived. They don't know it, yet, but, they have.
I'm a Democrat, and have been since I could first vote, but, I could not, in all good faith, vote for someone who I do not trust.

I really, really hope that Obama is able to lead the US without any hitch. Him being the first black president, as well as the first multi-racial American president (correct me if I am wrong) could lead to potential turmoil with either the people in congress or the general public. I will be praying bthat things go smooth for him and the US.

To answer the question in the thread title, I voted for John McCain and Sarah Palin.

I'm very excited about the Obama win. Glad my vote in my first ever election counted. Makes me feel good that I made my voice heard.
However, the win is bitter-sweet for me. In Florida, it seems, that Amendment NO. 2 will be passed.
And I hear things are not going well for Prop. 8 in California.
But, in seeing how History was changed tonight with the first black president of the United States, I hope that one day it will change again and we can all live in a country where I will one day be allowed the same rights as my friends to, if I one day choose to, marry the person I love.
One day.

Good man! Unfortunately, we lost out. I would never have guessed that I would vote for John McCain or Sarah Palin, but, after Hillary dropped out, I could not cast a vote for Barack Hussein Obama. In my gut, I feel that there's something bad with him.AwallaceUNC wrote:To answer the question in the thread title, I voted for John McCain and Sarah Palin.

Although I'm Canadian and obviously can't vote in the U.S., I would've voted for Obama. Personally, I don't even mind the fact he supports renegotiating NAFTA... I've felt Canada should diversify its trading for a while, now. We rely far too much on the U.S. economy.
Congrats for the high voter turnout; our recent joke of an election up here had record lows. Voter apathy seems to be at an all-time high in Canada, and I really can't blame the public. It's just a pity we got stuck with the same Conservative government... the election was a massive waste of everyone's time and money.

'k, but what does using his full name over and over have to do with it? Repetition is one of the worst, and most annoying, tools of (poor) writers worldwide. Not surprisingly, it's typically employed by both FOX News and CNN.MadonnasManOne wrote:Good man! Unfortunately, we lost out. Its clear where your preferences lie, so I won't argue that since its your right to express your opinion. However, I don't like how you are condemning the people that voted for Obama and desire misfortune on them simply because they went against your thoughts. All I have to say is this...MadonnasManOne wrote:Terrible choice America has made. Absolutely terrible!

There is ALWAYS an air of uncertainty when a new leader enters our Government. It doesn't matter if the leader has years of experience or are still inexperienced. Hell, the leader could be somebody that is already in congress enjoying a nice position. NOTHING can tell if they will lead well or not.
If Hillary had won it wouldn't make things better. She would have had the same chances and public reaction as Obama did tonight.
Will Obama make this country better? We don't know for sure. But now its the perfect time to be united rather than to divide ourselves over petty differences. There's a reason this country is called the UNITED States. So instead of cursing the voters you should join them and hope that everything is fine, no matter what your gut is telling you.

Is it just me or does the Fox News Channel always seem to support republicans while MSNBC technically Keith Olberman seemed to favor the Demorcats...TM2-Megatron wrote:Although I'm Canadian and obviously can't vote in the U.S., I would've voted for Obama. Well I am going to listen to Rush Limbaugh in the morning going boo hoo and will enjoy every bit of it...then after the first 10 minutes I will turn the radio station off of Rush
Anyway Congrats to Obama party...Hopefully he will rise to everyone's expectations and prove to everyone that he was and is the right choice for President of the USA...
P.S. Here's to no more campaign ads/attacks on Television radio...at least until 2012 concerning president of USA...though now we will have Viva Viagra commercials, banks commercials and other medicine or something that relates to the medical realm...and don't forget those Soda and food Commercials...though I wonder if John Mcain will retire or will he go back to being a senator for the state of Arizona? Or will he go the Bob Dole route and do Viagra Commercials with Tyra Banks instead of Brittney Spears?
