It looks from that that nothing is missing from the R1 release (apart from the 1.66:1 transfer). It still looks like a single disc though. I'm sure the quality will suffer as a result.

On one hand I'm happy everything is included but on the other I'll be upset if picture quality is lost. This is such a shame!

The 40-plus minutes making of featurette is missing.
Hmm, so is the "On My Way" Sing-Along song (the most important of all the extras

Hmm, the US also has a DTS track and a stuffed first disc. I wonder if the picture quality will be affected...
Also, I wonder if the inclusion of DTS is the reason for less extras (well, the two versions of the film and Disney's lazyness are the true reasons

)

Perhaps, but I wonder if the US would really warrant a 2-disc set if not for the inclusion of the 1.66:1 transfer?

Although, I suppose it is always better to keep the supps on a 2nd disc to ensure that the quality is maintained.

Mind you, with a commentary, Dolby, English audio descriptive, and DTS track, in addition to the supplements, it will be kind of squahed.

And given the 2.35 transfer starts windowboxed, I's suspecting we may only be getting the 1.66 transfer.

Good to see an audio descriptive for the visually impared language track though

Just to point out to Joe Carioca and anyone else, the Path of Discovery making of documentary IS included on the british set. It is just show as each sperate part (the documentary is several sections stuck together to make one 40 mintue documentary) on the BBFC listings.

I checked the reivew of the DVD on www.dvdmg.com against the listings on bbfc and nothing expect for one (not sure which) of the picture transfers EVERYTHING is included (well its been rated at least).

2 discs is better than 1! besides the R1 will prob. have a better bitrate since everything is not crammed into one disc.

Yeah, but remember that not everything that is passed on BBFC actually make into the DVD.

Our Brazilian edition was announced and it seems just like the UK version. Only one disc and only the modified aspect ration version. Well, I didn't think twice before ordering the R1 version!

Take a look on the official UK DisneyDVD Shop to see that the UK Brother Bear DVD *will* have:
- Widescreen 1.85:1 transfer (strange - maybe they gave us a kind of "half-way option" instead of the 2.35 or 1.66? Some of the picture will definately be cut after the aspect ratio changes anyway

)

So that does sound fairly good (the documentary is included, at least), but as many people have said earlier the picture quality must surely suffer from all that content!

BV UK have let us all down again...

Oh my god, that looks awful! I will wait untill BVHE Belgium releases news about our release, but if our version is as bad as this one I will certainly NOT buy it. Too bad... I don't have an R1 dvd player :'(

Well, if this is the same with the NL version, than i will do something illigal with the DVD, but it wil save me the money for it.
Why can't disney give this disney classic, a good DVD release in europe.
Even the Lion King 1 1/2 had a 2 disk release in europe.
Why 'not the classics. Finding Nemo gets a good DVD release(I think if it dídn't do well in cinema it would had a crappy release to.)

I'm really disapointted about this, BVUK have made a big mistake with this release. I'm gonna have to air my view's to them.

Actually is it me or is BVUK just getting really lazy this year? Last year was quite a good year (IMO) for DVD releases. But this year they seem to be doing nothing.

But Matty Disney UK DVD's have the cool Disney holograms on the disc around the centre hole now. Disney UK did do something right because now it will be easy to spot a bootleg copy. I can't understand why Disney US hasn't done this yet.

But yeah - let's review the situation over here.

* Slipped release schedules (most of the UK releases I pointed out in this thread here seem to be slipping, some as late as October!)

* Single Disc releases of American Vault/Special Edition discs (even the single Disc Witch Mountain films are barebones, despite the US releases having substantial supplements on their single disc releases)

* Confusing or inaccurate publicity (see the Treasures press release - useless. Doesn't even mention the tins in the text and the Mickey Mouse details are wrong too), upteen discs slipping out without any publicity at all. None of the UK press releases ever mention the films aspect ratio, languages or subtitles.

* Single disc releases of Brother Bear and, I hearing Lion King II (despite the American Lion King II having more worthy supplements than the Lion King 1.5/3, which did get a UK 2 disc release).

BVHEUK are clueless.
