Missing Which Classics in your digital collection set?

Post by slash »

Just wondering which animated classics people are missing in their dvd collection set. These are the classics that I am missing:

1. Pinocchio
2. Bambi
3. Cinderella
4. Peter Pan
5. Lady and the Tramp
6. 101 Dalmatians
7. The Jungle Book
8. The Little Mermaid
9. Aladdin
10. Pocahontas
11. Mulan
12. Tarzan

Overall, I'm pretty proud of my collection considering that 3 of the movies I'm missing have yet to be released. I'm a little bitter that I'm missing a lot of the OOP releases but I'll be sure to pick them up when they go platinum or SE. Also, the quality of the releases were so poor (in picture transfer and features), it's hard to be too bitter (rented out Little Mermaid from Block Buster... that was one bad transfer). I mainly regret not getting Tarzan: CE. This was really a comprehensive release and I still smack myself over my head for missing this one. Also, since there is very little to add to the CE release, it might be decades before Disney pulls this one out of the vault again. :(.

To Jack:

Out of the ones you are missing, I would strongly suggest purchasing the following movies.
The Emperor's New Groove - Outrageous comedy and adventure
The Black Cauldron - the most underrated disney classic
The Rescuers - awesome 70's music and atmosphere, classic disney at it's best.

Take your time on these classics:
Make Mine Music, Melody Time, The Aristocats, The Rescuers Down Under, and Hercules.

To Rob:

WOW! I'm not worthy. :)
BTW, do you have the CE version of Tarzan or regular? And how is the CE version if you have it?

slash, I have seen all those movies, and I do plan to get those as soon as I can. Aside from Brother Bear, the next animated classic I get may very well be Emperor's New Groove.

And do you not like Rescuers Down Under? I think its very good - the only reason I haven't picked it up yet is money issues, but I can't wait to get that one.

I don't own the following:
Bambi
Cinderella
Brother Bear
Not yet out.

101 Dalmatians
The Jungle Book
Lady and the Tramp
The Little Mermaid
Mulan
I'm waiting for the eventual, Masterpiece, Platinum, Super-Duper Deluxe versions of these.

Tarzan
Because I'm an idiot and never picked up the 2-disc set.

The Black Cauldron
The Great Mouse Detective
Because I'm lazy and haven't picked them up yet

Pochahontas
The Rescuers
The Rescuers Down Under
Because they're my three least favorite Disney movies so I don't care if I get them.
