Chucky - The Killer DVD Collection
I know this is part Franchise Collection (like the Nutty Professor double feature was), but I was wondering, since it contains Child's Play 2 - 5 (aka 2, 2, Bride, and Seed) and they're double sided discs, do the discs have the same content as you would find if you bought each DVD individually?

Yeah, I was in FYE last night and looked for the older box set used and new, but no such luck. How much do you think it'd go for used (since it's no longer in print)? FYE didn't even have Child's Play 2 or Bride of Chucky, and I didn't wanna get number 3 because I haven't seen 2 yet. They had Seed used for $6, so I picked it up, even though it was fullscreen AND the R-rated version, but it was the only copy they had. I just got back from Target, where they had the Killer Collection for $15, so I got it, even though I already own Seed, I'm glad to have it in widescreen, but not happy that it's the rated version. Since Halloween is less than a week away, I figured I'd just pick up the Killer Collection, and if the older box set pops up anywhere I'll maybe get that, since you said some features are missing.littlefuzzy wrote:I know that the Seed of Chucky is not the Unrated version... I think there may be some other stuff missing, as well.
I've considered getting the older Chucky box set, which was 2-4, and then getting Seed separately.

I don't really know 100% if features are missing from the Franchise Collection set, other than Seed being the R version.
I wouldn't have bought the fullscreen rated version of Seed, especially if you were thinking of getting the set...
I have seen the older box set at Circuit City recently, for about $20.
Of course, now that you have the Killer Collection, you could just buy a copy of the Unrated Seed and you'd probably have most of the extras.

- from a DVD Talk ReviewConspicuously absent from this set is the theatrical trailer for Seed Of Chucky as well as the History Of Chucky featurette that was on the single disc release of Bride Of Chucky. Likewise, the two diaries that Tilly contributed to both of the films she appeared in are nowhere to be seen and the Chucky Insider Facts On Demand and second commentary track from the unrated release of Seed have also disappeared. Why this has happened is anyone's guess, but completists should take note that this set isn't as complete as the single disc releases that came before it.

Hot damn. How recently did you see the old set at Circuit City? Where did you find it (in the horror section or with the boxed sets)? I'm going there on Tuesday to pick up a few things, so I'll look for it.littlefuzzy wrote: I have seen the older box set at Circuit City recently, for about $20.

Well, I didn't originally plan on buying it, I just had no idea when I would have time to run to my local FYE to look for the movies used, and when I went to an FYE (that's no where near where I live), the only copy they had (new or used) of Seed was the theatrical fullscreen version, so I had no choice. So when I was in Target and I saw the Killer Collection, I got it because 4 movies for $14.99 is a steal, and I assumed since it was in the Franchise Collection, it would be as good as the Nutty Professor double feature, which was great. Side A of the disc was the EXACT original DVD release of the first film and Side B was the EXACT Theatrical Version DVD of The Klumps, not to mention, it saved me money and shelf space. I thought the Chucky Killer Collection would do the same for me, but I guess not...littlefuzzy wrote: I wouldn't have bought the fullscreen rated version of Seed, especially if you were thinking of getting the set...![]()
