Stewie15's Walt Disney World Trip Report (pictures up!!)

Post by stewie15 »

So i finally finished my trip report tonight. I really wanna thank Disney Villain for encouraging me to write this. I had alot of fun writing it though it was a lot of hard work. A link to my pictures is after the review. So here it is:

Pre Disney: So my trip really started on the 7th. That was our first day of our 3 day drive to Florida. We then arrived in Daytona beach (my moms part of the trip) on the 10th. This whole week was mostly spent on the beach or shopping. But in the off hours I would spend all my time I would watch Disney movies. My last night in Daytona concluded with a night swim and my first viewing of fantasia 200. When I woke up in the morning I could hardly contain my self. As we were driving to Orlando me, my sister and niece watched the outdated happiest celebration on earth planning DVD given to us by friends. I the course of 3 years I have watched that DVD at least 15 times and it never gets old. At around 12:00 we were inside the Disney property! And then all of a sudden it was there ANIMAL KINGDOM!!!

Animal Kingdom: As I entered the gates with pins around my neck and pall Mickey in my hand I could not help feel that this was where I belong. Although it didn’t take long for my first set back to happen. Pal Mickey ran out of juice just as I entered the gates. But I wasn’t gunna let it stop me. First thing I did was run to Kilimanjaro Safaris and got a FP. The wait was short though and so I got in line a waited less than 20 minutes. Next thing I did was see the Pocahontas and Lion King shows. Fortunately it poured while I was in watching the shows and stopped soon after I finished. Both shows were good but Festival was not as spectacular as some say. Both were very well done though. I then did some character searching. I met Turk, King Louie (was really excited for him), Donald and Goofy. All of the Character interactions were great. Donald gave me bunny ears and I called him sneaky. King Louie was just silly. I then saw the parade and thanks to David S. I got a great spot. While waiting a girl about the age of 2 started walking over staring at my Mickey. The mom then explained that she wanted to steal him away from me. A nice cast member then gave her, her own doll. And I thought to myself only at Disney!! The parade was great and I got a lot of interaction with the characters. At one point I saw Br'er Bear called out his name and got the biggest high five ever. I could tell it was sorta a thank you gift for knowing his name. Rest of the day I spent on rides like Expedition Everest and Dinosaur. I also saw Finding Nemo the musical. It was SO AMAZING!!
Definitely a must sea as the posters say. Overall Animal kingdom was a great start to my trip to WDW.

Magic Kingdom: My second day at Disney was at the Magic Kingdom. This day I was joined by my sister, brother and niece. The first thing we did was go strait to space mountain and got FPs we continued to go on everything! I was sort of the navigator that day because I new the park so well. It was nice being able to lead my family around the parks. Some highlights were Mickey’s fillhar magic. I had never been on this ride ad it was a real treat and being able to go all the rides with my niece. One her first trip she was 4 and wasn’t able to go on much. Now that she is 6 she was able to go on everything. Rides like the 3 mountains and hunted mansion (the new renovations we great!!). We also met Aladdin and Jasmine in front of the magic carpets. As soon as I met Aladdin he took my water bottle out of my hands and put it in a vase by where we were standing. AS we were talking with them I use the slang term fo sho he asked me what I said and I told him that it meant for sure. He told me that he should bring that back to Agarbah. I then responded def (definitely). Aladdin then said in Agarbah we skip the sho and just say def-fo. Jasmine was also very nice and pretty too. My sister, brother and niece let at 9 that night (I was staying till 2 for the extra magic hours). After they left I met Prince John And friar tuck. As soon as I saw prince john I bowed to him and whispered to friar tuck that I knew he was the phony king of England. Both were very much in character and were fighting to get my attention. Later that night I saw wishes in an ok spot by the entrance to tomorrow land. I missed Tink though. But the show was defiantly great and I got some good pictures of the castle. After the fire works I went to meet the princess. It was like 10:30 at night and I still had to wait 30 minutes to see them. Aurora, Cinderella and Belle were there. I had nice conversations with Aurora and Cinderella. Both asked usual questions. What’s your name prince and what a nice name. What adventures did you have and ohh you’re so brave. Cinderella asked me how I got here and I said drive. She said ohh you must have fed your horse lots of carrots then. Bell was a little more cold. She asked me the first 2 questions then immediately asked for a picture. She was still nice though. After that I went and met Gofy, Pluto and Donnald. All 3 were very enthusiastic and fun. After that I did a couple more fantasy land dark rides, Space Mountain and Hunted Mansion. Ate the end of this day I had 2 giant blisters but it was def worth it.

Disney MGM Studios: I guess its now The Disney Hollywood Studios but will always live in my heart as MGM Studios. Originally this was going to be my break day and I would either head to AK in the morning or The Studios at night. (because of the extra magic hours). Well with the impending tropical storm Fay I decided to head to the studios. Anyway this was my 2nd day alone and let me tell you it didn’t disappoint. I got there around 11 after sleeping in because of my previous late night. The first thing I did was head to toy story mania but the FPs were sold out and the wait was an hour so I decided to go over rocking roller coaster in the single riders line. I waited there for around 20 minuets when I realized I was going to miss the BATB show and I wanted to get that finished early. So I got out of that line a picked up a FP for rocking roller coaster. I got into the theater and I was pretty packed but got a desent seat on the left side of the theater. I didn’t remember how much the show cut out and thought to my self where’s papa?!? But overall the show was great and the actors did great jobs. After the show I went on Tower of Terror in the line I also picked up a FP for later. Over the course of the day I would ride it another 3 times. Words can not describe how much I love that ride. Every time I walk into that lobby I get Goosebumps. It’s that good. While on tower of terror It started to pour and because of that they delayed the parade. Finally when it did get going none of the floats stopped and there was no character interaction. This made me a little sad because bat on my first trip in 96 they would stop the parade and if you had a sticker you could go play with the characters. This was an amazing experience and I was hopping to re-create it but unfortunately not. It was still a nice parade to watch and I am glad bugs life got its own float. The rest of the day I was able to do everything I wanted to except the back lot tour because of it closing early. I even got on toy story mania in the single riders line and probably had to wait like 40 minutes. I had a lot of fun throwing those dart even if I couldn’t aim if my life depended on it. The ride was great overall. Not 100 minutes great thought. I also met a fair amount characters. Mike and Sully who were both very fun. Mickey who is of course a must do. I waited to see him here so I could meet him in his sorcerer outfit. This was a nice change because I have met him in his tuxedo outfit for the past 3 years. He was great. Just like he always is. Although I did notice something with Mickey and other characters this trip. I guess I am a official teen because up until now I have gotten a hug. Now I get a high five or fist punch. Although I did still ask for hugs for some characters. The highlight of the day was meeting Buzz and Woody. The meet and greet area was great and had a lot of photo ops with cool cutouts. When I reached the front of the line I was just as excited as I was on my first trip. As soon I saw them I shouted “reach for the sky”. At this point woody perked up and I went and gave buzz a high 5. I told them both how much this meant to me. And as I was leaving buzz reached out to give me another high five and I said whatever give me a hug and hugged him. Around 5:45 I arrived at the hat for the character greeting and decided to go on the great movie ride because it had a 0 wait time. Well it stopped at the scene from Casablanca for 7 minutes and let me tell you those animatronics get really creepy after 7 minutes. Well wouldn’t you know the characters only stay out for 15 minutes. And I saw all the good ones too. I was so mad at my self. But sill the day went on and I went on Tower of Terror 2 more time and I was fine. I also saw Fantasmic. I saw the first show just to be safe and had an ok seat. It was crazy Amazing!!!! I only wish I could have stolen meg off that boat and gotten my picture with her. Overall another great day!

Epcot: So this was probably my worst day. It was the day Fay was hitting and I didn’t get to do/see everything I wanted. I did though get on some good rides in the morning when the crowds were really short. The only rides that I really missed were test track, living the land, hunny I shrunk the audience and the Norway boat ride that looked really cool. I also wanted to take my time around world showcase which was hard to do when its is windy and pouring rain. Still I had a good time. I got a FP for Soaring as soon as I got into the park (thanks David. S) and then later got one for Mission Space. I got to go on The new Seas with Nemo. I wasn’t really impressive but still god for a zero minute wait time. I really liked the revamp of spaceship earth. I also got some character seeing in as well. I met Aladdin and Jasmine for a 2nd time hoping that Genie would be there. But both were still fun and really fit the characters. I also met THE SAME belle from the MK but this time she was in her blue dress witch was really exciting for me because I love the blue dress. She was a bit less cold this time too. I met Donald in his caballero outfit. I also met Mulan. I dropped my camera just as I went up to meet her and she said ohh I hope it not broken. She also to me that Shang would be proud that I was still Carring on in this rain. What I am really upset about though is that I missed IllumiNations because I have never seen it but overall I did a lot and made the best of a very bad day. I am also very happy that my mom agreed to drive me in such bad weather.

2nd day at Disney MGM Studios: I went this time with my sister, brother and niece. I had learned my mistake and got FPs for Toy Story Mania. It was mostly the same as the previous day with a few exceptions. 1) My 6 year old niece did tower of terror and loved it! I had told her a story about how I was around a year younger than her and after I did TofT balled my eyes out for 10 minutes. After we got off the ride she says to me “I cant believe you cried after this stew”. 2) My niece had drawn a picture of Belle and Iknew there was no meet and greet so we gave it to an extremely mice woman who gave it to Belle. Maddy (niece) then got a felt rose and magic moment certificate signed by Belle. Because Belle loved her picture so much. 3) We met so many great characters! All of the characters I had seen the other day and more were there. We met Minnie who was very nice to all of us and gave me 3 kisses Goofy and Max and I had never met max before so this was very exciting. I told him that it was great to finally meet him and he gave me a huge high 5. Chip and Dale who also were also very nice. Maddy really liked them. Queen of Hearts and Tweedledee/dum. Tweedledee and Tweedledum made a chain and started with the queen and started to go in a circle. As soon as I got up there I grabbed on to there arms and all 3 of us went in a circle. Then when we stopped I whispered to the Queen off with there heads eh? And she shook her head. It was wonderful. Next was Pocahontas and Meko. As I walked up I greeted her with wingapo and she did the same back. She asked me what kind of adventures I had been on that day. I said tower of terror. She told me how brave I was and that Meko was too scared to go on that adventure. She then asked me where I was from and I told her Toronto Canada. And she responded ohh they have great waterfalls there me and Meko like to jump off them. My visit ended with a big hug from Meko. Next were Jafar and Governor Radcliff. Both were amazing and totally in character. As I approached Jafar I said hi a little apprehensively. And he just looked down at me in this very intimidating way. We took or picture and my sister told me that a light ruined the picture so I asked if we might move over and he just stared at me for like 5 seconds and shuffled over slowly just like Jafar would. Also his hand gestures were amazing. Radcliff was great too the whole time I was with him he just gave off this vibe that he was better than me. And as I was finished it wasn’t good bye or anything just a shoo hand gesturer. As everyone was leaving I called out GOODBYE GOVERNOR. He turned around for a second and just dismissed it like I was riff raff. It was amazing. Last was Marry Poppins and Mr. Penguin. My niece Maddy just happened to be wearing a shirt with a penguin in a giant heart and Mr. Penguin loved that. Mary asked her if she could show Mr. Penguin some dance moves. They danced for like 2 minutes and then before we left she gave him a little kiss on the beak. It was so cute mary was very nice too.

2nd day at Magic Kingdom: This day was by far the most amazing Disney experience day. I had done everything the previous day and it was rainy so I kind of wanted just quiet character looking day. I met so many great characters that day. I started with a couple small fantasy land rides waiting for the characters to start showing up. The characters i met first I were the Termaine family. Anastasia was the first to speak saying ohhhhhh you wore our coordinating colors (I was wearing pink). Lady told me to go stand with my girlfriend. Drizzella then asked me if I had any green clothes and I said yes. After we took our photo I told them that I would wear green then red next time I visited and Lady that she really didn’t care what I wore. Next I met Ariel who surprisingly called me fishy instead of prince. She was very fun. Next I met Captin Hook, Smee, Rafiki and Timon in adventure land. All four were fun and I got lots of high fives and hugs from them. Next I headed over to Expo Hall and met lots of characters there. Peter and Wendy were first. Both were great I especially love the way peter introduced himself. Saying IM PETER!! In a big voice with a fist in the air. Next was Mary and Bert who were voice very proper and English. I had a nice conversation with Bert about how nice Toronto was and how he stayed at the Delta Chelsea in Toronto once and Mr. Penguin would have liked the pool because it was on the roof. Next was Jiminy, Gepeto and Pinocchio. I told them I had never seen them together before and had I been looking for them. I would later go back to them because my picture turned out badly. Next was Snow White who was so sweet. We had a nice conversation about adventures and how I had been meeting lots of her friends but I assured her she was my favorite when she asked. After that I found Daisy Duck and I freaked out. On my 5 past trips to Disney I have only seen her once. Me and my sister both searched everywhere for her on our lasts few trips. When I reached her I told her how excited I was and how I had never met her before. Needless to say I got lots kisses and hugs. Next I went searching for the Fairy Godmother for a while running from fantasyland to toon town. In my searching I met a wonderful cast member on the collage program. Her name was Joanne and she was really helpful with my quest for finding the Fairy Godmother. I never did find the Fairy Godmother but during my search I did find Cruella which was nice because I had never met her. Before the day was over I met Stitch, Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsefeather all of whom were great. Just before I left I went back to do some revisits. First I went to Snow White. And told her I just wanted to see her again before I left. She said I was so sweet and asked if she could give me a kiss. I of course said yes and when she did I almost died this was just the icing on my trip cake. It was a repeat of what happened when on my first trip and was what I was hoeing would happen. Next I went back to Jiminy, Gepeto and Pinocchio who had no line so I went up and started chatting them up. I asked when there next DVD release was going to be, Its been 10 years!! I think you need to go up to those home video executives and demand a DVD release I told them. Thats when Pinocchio started marching to the exit when a cast member called him back and told him they do it for the hype. Gepeto then pointed out that we both had glasses and I told him yahh it’s because were cool like that. Then a family came up and so I started chating with a cast member about why only certain characters come out. She was very honest with me which was very nice. I then said my goodbyes left the park hopped on the monorail and it was over. Overall though the trip was wonderful. The weather kinda put a damper on it. But my family and I made the best of it and it turned out to be one of the best trips to WDW ever

Once again i want to thank David. S because without him my trip would not have been half as good as what it was.

And now for my pictures

Great report, Stewie!

I am sorry the rain interfered with the experience and caused you to miss some of the things you wanted to do. Hopefully you will get to make it back soon and see what you missed.

I am happy you still had fun and that the info I posted when you were planning your trip turned out to be helpful!

WDW is truly a magical place; my favorite on the planet. I can't wait to go back!

PS. I'm in my 30's and get a lot of the high fives and handshakes like you mentioned, but occasionally one of the characters will come up and give me a hug - so it can still happen even if you're not a kid! (in the age sense)

We just got back from WDW on Sunday. I saw Clarabelle and Horace as well. We also saw Prince Caspian and had our picture taken with him. We saw Lilo and Stitch together. I had my picture taken with Sorcerer Mickey. That was the first time I saw Mickey was in Sorcerer's Apprentice. We also saw Koda. I had my picture taken with him. We saw Winnie the Pooh, Eyeore, Piglet and Tigger all at the same place.

Interesting question. I bought the Walt Disney Resort DVD set when we were in WDW recently. In the Epcot DVD, they have the sign Epcot on top of Spaceship Earth and Mickey hand with a magic wand. When we were there that wasn't there. Any idea what happened and why it isn't there.

Nala, for the year 2000, Spaceship Earth was decorated like this:

http://idiozeitgeist.com/wordpress/wp-c ... mearth.jpg

I'm not sure when the "2000" was taken down, but Mickey's hand, the wand, & the "Epcot" sign were taken down only a few months ago (I mean, it could've been a year ago, but sometime not too long ago).

You've been on 5 trips. Your so lucky. How old are you? Like 15?
