Love the Cover Art, but I'm going to wait till I hear about the transfer before it becomes a must have for me. A new game and a slipcover (which I throw away anyway) are not selling points for me.

I LOVE the cover art! I will definitely pick this one up, since I don't have it on DVD at all yet.

hmm... I don't know about the cover art... the characters look very strange, to say the least. the idea and colour scheme is great though.

I agree. It's OK. Could be better, could be worse.

You know, I really am happy that Disney's giving this movie a little more recognition. Finally!!! :D

But I am a little irked that it won't be on Blu-Ray at the same time. No offense, but why's Disney's hogging the Blu-Ray releases to the newer Disney films and the Platinum Editions?? Huh?!

However, I am totally glad this movie's getting a little more recognition! Bold move, Disney. Bold. Move! ^_^

I thought all the characters looked accurately drawn. Kinda wish the artist(s) put shades over Dodger's eyes but then they would block the affectionate look he gives Oliver.

Odd that you should mention that because it's related to one of my beefs with the film. It's mostly noticeable in the opening sequences---in the wide shots, our characters seem to be the only thing MOVING, which is just not very NYC.
...Unless I'm mistaken then, would your problem be that they use static shots too often? Because, I mean, I'm not nuts about that, but that was how it was at the time.

I like this cover art a great deal, it's much better than the old DVD version, with Jenny squeezing Oliver on a dock somewhere and Tito floating in space. I guess my hope for a new special feature was too much. Still, like I said, if the transfer looks nicer, I'll still buy it.

Why doesn't the cover art have any of the characters from the film on it?

What film are that lot from?

OMG! Disney has acquired the rights to Glen or Glenda!

I also agree.

I definitely won't be buying this...come on, Disney, is it THAT hard to make a documentary? Do a few interviews, and have some other promotional things (trailers...a Disney Channel special or something)...

I mean, my wallet thanks you (yet again) for not having to spend money, but you could do better!

I would like to get this as it is one of the better films from the 80s (I've seen the others from that decade and the only ones I like are "The Fox and the Hound," "Oliver & Company" and "The Little Mermaid") but with the way my money is situated right now, I don't even know if I can make it through December with all of the films I want. It's not the best film, but I grew up on it so it is one I would like to have.

It's definitely a great film, with one of my favorite soundtracks ever...I think that everyone who doesn't have the older version of the DVD should pick this one up at some point, since it should be in everyone's Disney collection.
I already have the old version...Disney isn't even trying to get people to double-dip these days.

I just noticed this and i'm not sure if it bothers me or not... Shouldn't the title be Oliver & Company, not Oliver and Company. I mean, i know it's just a symbol vs. the actual wording but i feel like the & is there for a reason.

They'll probably change it later.

The cover looks ok, but I don't love it. It looks too sophisticated and really doesn't match the movie. To me, O&C is a fun and upbeat movie and the cover should reflect that. It looks too bland to me.

AND...where's the taxi?? There should always be a taxi on the cover for this movie. When you think of NY, you think of a taxi...or at least I do. I much perfer the old VHS cover art.

Who wouldn't be? He's dreamy. He's like the Zac Efron of rapscallion canines.

OK, Dodger is WAY better than Zac could ever hope to be. Especially in the singing department.

Hadn't watched this in a while so decided to play it yesterday & see how it fared on our HD 52inch TV. Oh dear! Mistake! As good as the tranfer is, the film itself is in need of a LOT of work. If this was put out on Blu, in its current state, I'd imagine there'd be quite a number of dissatisfied viewers. Blu could only make its shortcomings in quality even more obvious & distracting - especially on today's larger TV's. Think Disney has got a lot of restoration to do to their 'smaller' DAC's before we see them released in this format.
