I wouldn't know about America, but I haven't seen a blu-ray with a slipcover before, and I just check the shelves regularly. Sorry, that's not much help

"Enchanted" did not come with one.

Ratatouille and POTC 1-3 did.

Sleeping Beauty will more than likely have one.

I've merged all those threads into the archive. If you find anymore slipcover threads, Albert, let me know, and I will merge them too.

May I suggest a slipcover and cover art forum? Or is that too wicked? :D
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

That would be cool, you know, to see different covers from different countries/regions.

It may be redundant if anything, having slipcovers AND cover art - usually it's the exact same...

Beauty And The Beast DVD Cover

Post by Spottedfeather »

Does anyone know how to get slipcovers that Disney no longer has ? A while back, I found that part of my B&B slipcover was stuck together and tore a little bit. I wrote Disney, from whom I've gotten more than a few slipcovers in the past, but they didn't have the B&B cover anymore. I wasn't too surprised. That's something six years old, isn't it ? I'd really like to find a mint (or close to it) cover of Beauty & The Beast Platinum. I could buy a cover off of ebay, but I really don't want to spend upwards of 30 dollars to get a dvd set with the cover when my actual dvds are practically new. Any ideas ?
Think about this. Once bread becomes toast, you can't make it back into bread.

UD holds over 50,000 pages. Use Search to find what you need in just seconds.
Escapay! Oh Escapay!... Oh dear I think he fell flat cold because of another slipcover thread...

In the future for Escapay's wellfare.... Use the search button......There is one huge thread that can answer your question about slipcovers on (I don't have the link off hand but I am sure someone will rush to Scapsta's aid and bring the link to you or CJ will combine this thread with the current Huge slipcover thread.... though don't think its that far down so You can probably find it on page one due to a merge yesterday

Well I guess NEW Slipcover Threads are better Than lousy Spam!!!

I haven't yet posted regarding slipcovers, and yeah they are a big waste and they need to stop making them.
However... when a dvd is released with a slipcover, I have to find one that does have it as I consider it part of the entire package, it's the collector in me. Of course I have to search to find one that's not scratched, dented, torn, bent, you name it, and it's quite aggravating as stores stock shelves and don't take care in handling their products.
Anyway, I hope they stop this practice of putting slipcovers on future Disney releases, less frustration for me. :)

I always try and get a copy that has a slip cover... just so that I can recycle it as soon as I get home and turn it into something useful... like tissue paper.

Dude, are you serious?

I keep those slipcovers on them... I don't know why, but it feels like my DVDs are missing something if they don't have one. (Pirates of the Caribbean came without a slipcover, since I had never even heard of that movie until it had been on DVD for 2 years already, believe it or not)

They were selling the 10th anniversary edition of Toy Story at Target for like $12.99 but I refused to buy it since it didn't have a slipcover

And of course, it's only the Disney ones (usually) that come with the slipcovers anyway... I don't really mind for films that never had one.

Is there anyone still upkeeping this thread? Just wondering since it says the last time the original post was edited was back in Sept of 07.

On another note I just called and got 6 sleeves sent out to me for all the movies that I wanted them for. Hopefully they come in mint condition.

Mulan I & II boxset & slipcover

Post by JasonSolaris »

Hi. I noticed while looking at the Mulan boxset in the US and Canada that some have just the slipcover for Mulan I or II, or no slipcover at all.. Has anyone seen a retailer carry a boxset that contains both? I rather not purchase two sets to get both slipcovers..
Thanks

I think they are just sticking the existing DVDs in the boxset.... At Target only the first movie had the slipcover.

Yeah.

I bought this set at Target because the first movie was $20 with no slipcover, but both were $25 and it had a slipcover for the original. They're identical repackings (complete with "2004 Release"), and they stuck a piece of paper between the two with an ad for Sleeping Beauty, and a booklet with Disney Movie Rewards points.

Did Mulan 2 ever have a slipcover? If it did, then silly me for getting the 2-movie set!

Sorry, again.

I purchased Camp Rock and Hannah Montana Best of Both Worlds on Blu-Ray this week, and neither had a slipcover.

I'm just making sure they weren't supposed to come with one. Anyone?

TIA

I don't think so. I think only Sleeping Beauty did, but I'm not positive.
