Well said, and great advice, too.Disneykid wrote:it makes more sense to pick up the title with a hazy future than the one with a clearly set one.
Was it in good condition?
I guess it depends on the reason for buying it. I used to only buy movies if I actually saw it, loved it, etc. But now I'm trying to expand my horizons, and start collecting some of the films that I've only seen once, but liked anyway.SleepingBeautyAurora wrote:I'd pick Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. In my opinion it's a better movie then Tarzan. I don't own the 2-disc Collectors Edition of Tarzan but I do have Snow White, so I can't compare the special features. Snow White's cover art is definitely better though!
The Tarzan: Collector's Edition is indeed a must-have and quite awesome for a two-disc, especially one from 2000 (when most studios didn't release two-disc DVDs yet!). Compared to later Disney sets (Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Tron, and the Vault Disney Collections, for example) it may not seem like a lot of material. There is a commentary (which I haven't heard in awhile, but it is quite good), but the second disc's features altogether are only about an hour and 40-odd minutes, and only about 35 minutes are traditional "talking heads" featurettes. But it's both very diverse and very well-organized with great material such as the original song demos (something I wish would be included in all Disney DVDs), multi-angle featurettes (which seem to be rarer and rarer on Disney DVDs), and individual featurettes on character design ("Creating [insert name]", which Platinums sure could use instead of just one all-purpose featurette about animation or voice actors.). Also, it's got quite a a lot of great stills and text frames.Vermin Friends wrote:if you're getting a movie to add to your collection, the two-disc release of Tarzan is a must-have according to what Escapay told me.
I can't be postitive about Snow White's because I couldn't very well rip the plastic off and go through to look for disc scratches and inserts, but the amaray case looked to be in alright condition and the coverart was clean.Vermin Friends wrote:Was it in good condition?
They were used, both at $24, I believe.yukitora wrote:Were they both brand new or used?
Haha, there were actually some of those at my MovieStop. Heehee, I'm lucky.singerguy04 wrote:speaking of, if anyone knows a good place where i might be able to find Beauty and the Beast: Enchanted Christmas I'd be very happy.
Ugh you are SO lucky! I don't even think there is a MovieStop anywhere close to me! Is there a way to find out? Because GameStop used to have a great selection, but over the past year, it's been rare to find anything good there.Pasta67 wrote:My MovieStop must be located around a bunch of animation fans, since it's like a goldmine of rare, used DVDs in there. They have a bunch of the old Limited Issue discs, the Peter Pan special edition, some rare treasures (but not many), and just a lot of cool out-of-print stuff.
Yeah. They're not very well known, though. Apparently there are only 45 stores across the entire country. It's way bigger than a GameStop, though. At least, mine is. It's pretty huge.PeterPanfan wrote:What is MovieStop? It it some sub-store of GameStop?
