Great episode! Yes, it does make you ponder how much your life can change in 5 years.tsom wrote:I'm loving it so far!!
Makes me wonder how my life will be 5 years from now.
It's sad that Danielle has come back, and taken her son, which Bree has raised. Poor Bree.
So, Mike didn't die. I thought for sure he had. So, the deal is that Susan can't forgive Mike, and blames him for the crash, and they have divorced.

The part with Danielle was so sad. But...is Leo Edie's nephew? If it was, then:
1. It's good that he got his life together.
2. It's good that Danielle ended up marrying her baby's father.
All the new kids are adorable. I love Jaunita and Maynard.
Edie's husband is weird.
Gabi just let herself go. It's hilarious. I've been watching the whole series again from Season One (it comes on Lifetime), and there was a scene where Gabi's Asian maid told her about how one day, Gabi's beauty will be gone and she'll have nothing left. Well, here ya go.
I still love Susan!!!
The twins look like Matt Damon.
Oh, and as for Julie, she's probably graduated from college. So, she's either in Graduate School or starting her career.

The part with Gabrielle making her daughter chase the car kind of makes me angry--probably because I also had a weight problem as a young child. The problem is that parents shouldn't let their children get out-of-hand like this in the first place and then try to fix the problem improperly. I feel sorry for Juanita because her parents are creating a horrible reality for her, that she'll have to work to fix later, before she even knows what she's doing. I still love Gabrielle and she is a modern parent (utterly clueless but well-intentioned), but that's no way to treat a child. I would've got on the bus, too.
Bree was boring and I hope something else happens with her this season because, no matter how sad it is that the business has become the "baby" she lost, it's uninteresting. About as bad as when Lynette went to work. But I guess every character has to have a "bad" season once. Not surprised about Danielle being selfish though. And I'm glad Orson's back in the picture, but they seemed like there was no more love between them. Like they were only together (as the scene implied) out of convenience/Bree's loneliness. And I guess they've kept Delaney because she's one of the only people left in Bree's storyline at this point.
Teri Hatcher is actually pretty interesting. I don't think I've ever really hated her character, I just really disliked her in season 3. Gale Harold is better at being her love interest than I thought he would be, and I'm actually interested in where this storyline will go (I hope it doesn't drag).
Lynette's story was my favorite. I'm glad they're trying to take control of their kids for once. The twins are cute, but I have a feeling they're going to be bratty as long as they're on the show.
Too bad Parker and the baby girl they had didn't appear.
Overall, I was satisfied. It wasn't the best it could've been (imo), but I'm sure it'll pick up over time. And it's kind of exciting that Edie seems to be at the center of the mystery this year--that's a first! I just hope the ratings stay high.

Overall, i liked the episode, it had all the Desperate ingredients of a usual episode but it seemed to me kinda stiff and unimaginative.
The storyline of the characters (and i mean all of them) are not that great, they seem mundane and unimportant.
Also, there wasn't enough mystery. We get to know what happened to Susan's and Mike's marriage from the first episode we also know who is the villain and partially his intentions from the first episode as well.
We know that he has a rage problem and that he is using Edie as a cover and a way to blend in Westeria Lane in order to avenge i.e kill? someone. Although there is still a mystery around him it seems not as intriguing as the mysteries of previous seasons. I guess my expectations were too high for just the first episode and i got a bit disappointed but hopefully it will get even better after some episodes.
Btw, am i the only one that is sick about that Susan's storyline in EVERY season concerns her love life one way or another. Is there nothing more they can develop for this character besides that?

Other than the Lynette stuff (and the look of her new kids...) I'm not a fan of the five years later things thus far BUT I can see than Susan's man is very yummy and I second the motion of showing the open robe!MadonnasManOne wrote:

I love when this show throws in a real gem, proving that there is more than the superficial. That stuff with Gabby and Carlos, and getting thrown out of the dinner, was excellent. I love the words of wisdom from Carlos, "We haven't lost anything, except the chance to hobnob with a bunch of unhappy stuck-up snobs. I rub those people, and I can tell you, they are just as unhappy as I was when I was out chasing that stuff. We haven't lost anything that matters." Great stuff and it is so true! I LOVE this show!

I'm a tad sad about Orson. With that last scene we got back a little bit of bad Orson. I want to like Orson and he was right about dinner. Bree should have keept her word, but the looks she gave him where so hurt it seemed cold of him not to say anything.
Also I felt so bad for Mrs. McKlusky throughout the episode. I'm glad that they did not KILL Toby and I'm very glad she got back her balls at the end and is investigating.

Tonight's episode was pretty funny! The Porter/Lynette storyline was sad. I feel so sorry for Porter, but I would be creeped out if my mom or dad was talking to me on facebook pretending to be a classmate.
Seriously, how many other exes could Susan have?! LOL. Dougray Scott should have made an appearance!
Edie's husband...really creepy.
I missed Gabi's daughter tonight! I love that little girl.
The funniest part was when Mrs. M said "I tell her she's easier to get into than Community College, and she tells me my face looks like a knee." VERY clever! I'm still laughing about it.
Also, Mike's toe fetish was kind of disgusting. Haha
Why the heck was Bree crying?
Can't wait till next week to see Gabi and Susan fight!
