Not original spanish track in Sleeping Beauty Platinum

Once again, Disney Iberia and Disney Latino fooled us again with the redubbed spanish audio tracks.

Up to Beauty and the Beast, spanish and latin people shared the same audio tracks. That dubbings were beautifully done and we all consider that are part of the movie itself.

Well, after the royalties problem, many Disney films were redubbed in many countries, resulting new tracks of a lower quality.

When Snow White was released in 2001, people from Disney Spain emailed us telling that the DVD would include the original classic dubbing. It was not like that, and instead we got the HORRIBLE mexican redubbing plus a new spanish one.

With the previous Sleeping Beauty, all the same, we got the mexican redubbing (no spanish redub was made for this film.).

BUT, checking http://www.zonadvd.com/modules.php?name ... &sid=16957 Disney announced that the original 1959 spanish track woould be included, but now, zonadvd has checked that the track included is the mexican 2001 redubbing.

That track is the same included in the R1 edition.

In Spain we are sick and tired about the way Disney works in Spain, i think they are people unaware of the product they're selling.

So sad with this, truly i am.

They always do that. I think all the Platinum Editions were redubbed in all languages... I know The Little Mermaid was (I downloaded the Japanese one and it's the newer of two dubs)

The only PE's with Spanish redubbings are Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.

They also did the same to Thai soundtracks in region 3.

Yeah I just mean that in general, a lot of non-English versions are redubbed on the Platinum Editions than they were on VHS.

Not sure if it's a copyright issue... or they just didn't like the old dub. But I know for the Japanese ones, some people actually liked the one one better.

The dubs for latin america were changed in only four films: Snow white, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Lady and the Tramp.

After Peggy Lee won her lawsuit against disney for using her voice in the video release of Lady (she had only signed for cinema releases), Evangelina Elizondo, the voice for the spanish (latin america) version of Cinderella decided to do the same.
Disney didnt want to pay her off, so they redubbed the movie. I assume some of the people who dubbed the other three films are alive as well, and DIsney is trying to avoid being sued again.
Apparently, americans deserve to have their memories of a film intact, whereas latin americans-spaniards do not deserve the same privilage.

The Lion King was the first film dubbed in our native portuguese here in Portugal. Until that, all animated movies we got were dubbed in brazilian portuguese, and from TLK on, in our portuguese.

When they started coming in DVDs, the dubbs were the same, as in old VHS. But when Platinum and Special Editions came, all films prior to TLK were reddubed into our native portuguese, and we didn' get the old brazilian dubb we were kind of, we always get the spanish tracks too, alongside norwegian and greek and some other languanges we don't understand.

So I don't know why this is, but guess Disney make things in their own way, don't minding the people who buy the films.
