It's not that I'm not taking advice.
It's that it doesn't apply here... Half.com does not have individual pictures, and when the description says "Open! Never used!", why would I assume it's a fake? It didn't say anything about being single disc or region free.

In fact, that same seller (potis-half) is trying to sell another copy... I should contact Half.com and ask them to ban him.

i mentioned the individual photos one time quite a few posts back...i've made about 50 other points since then and you ignored them all...the main point... use common sense... think about it before you buy it... and if you aren't going to think about it first, don't complain about it once a shifty product arrives at your doorstep...you get what you pay for... if people can get away with ripping you off, they will... that's the sad truth about this world. i will say it again... ESPECIALLY online... if something seems too good to be true, it usually is... and a $15 OOP copy of a film that has only ever had one DVD pressing over 7 years ago and was selling for upwards of $20 during it's original release... should have been a warning sign. if you don't see the red flag there, i'm sorry for you.

Not all DVDs are OOP PE DVDs, though.

Since Snow White has only been on DVD once, and has been unavailable since 2002, it is an in-demand item. I understand if you get Titanic, for example, at a cheap price on eBay or Half.com, even if it's new, because that film has had numerous editions on DVD, so it is not a hard-to-find item. But a brand-new copy of Snow White, in all honesty, should cost $50 or more, since a) it'd be in mint condition, and b) it is a rare item.

I got an email from Half.com saying the seller issued me a refund (I used the "file a claim" form... since just emailing the seller did nothing)

And he didn't even ask for the bootleg back

ugh,
So my friend decided to order Snow White on dvd for my daughters 3rd birthday.
He ordered it from amazon.com, thats all he told me.
Today this package arrives, its from Malaysia. ugh.
the discs, to me, look like terrible fakes. Ive scanned the discs, to show you. I have no idea what the original is supposed to look like, and its a little hard to tell how fuzzy the pictures are from the scan but ....

What do you do in a situation like this? Obviously Ill tell my friend that its a fake, it has to be, tho no case was sent, she did send the booklet insert and all the photos inside are fuzzy, so much that I would never believe Disney would do such a poor quality job.
Look at the photo and lemme know what you think. Ive never had this problem before...

Looking at my discs, they are the exact same. Disc 2 looks a little blurry, but I could be wrong. Your disc 1 looks like the colors have been toned down a but, and there should be streaks of light coming from off the apple in Snow White's hands. Plus if you didn't get a case it's probably fake. On the back of the discs on the center ring is there a barcode and a bunch of letters and numbers? That's the only way you can tell for sure.

I certainly do not know enough (or didn't before reading here) to avoid fakes and so I simply avoided buying from ebay and other places like that.

DisneyGirl22-do you think that there is a chance that you friend knew that the discs were fakes? My parents are fond of buying bootleg-they just don't care. Then they buy them for me too, but I hate them! Such shoddy quality, its such a waste of time.

If your friend knew they were fake, then you might do no good talking to them.
