My country doesn't enforce religion on people as much as Saudi does (which is where this clerk is from) this varies according to each government in the GCC, we sell alcohol in hotels as well as in some pubs and we have supermarkets that sell ham/pork, basically many of us are fairly open-minded (Thank God), but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for improvement.
But unfortunately, when people like me hear about people having sex in public on Jumeirah beach, it's very practical for us to be a little strict on people, coz this kind of behaviour is just so shocking for us, I wouldn't be surprised if my Granny fainted if she saw that article in the paper !
