^thanks a heap for your replies.

Has disney been "locking" their animated features BD releases do far? (SB, Chicken Little, Meet the Robinsons, etc). amazon.com isn't being very helpful as it states that SB blu-ray disc is "region 1" *rolls eyes*

Every Amazon-Shop ships worldwide.

UK-Edition from amazon.co.uk: £22,07 ~ $38,66 (excluding shipping rates to the US = £17,99)
Thanks! It looks like it might be pricy, but after all it is my favorite Disney film, so I might as well splurge a little. :p

Not, not if you have a US PS3. The US PS3 can't even play PAL format R0 DVDs.

Yukitora check out this site for listings of Blu-ray discs and their regions

Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

It will actually be a little cheaper than that, as you won't have to pay 17.5% sales tax if its posted to the US. However, the shipping will be more expensive than UK shipping, so it may end-up more or less the same as quoted above.

So the BD release's extras will include "Grand Canyon," "Four Artists Paint One Tree," and "The Peter Tchaikovsky Story"---all in HD. Nice.

I've read conflicting specs for the sound of this title. Does anyone know for sure what the audio will be? Certain sites say 7.1 PCM while others have it listed as 7.1 Dolby Tru HD. The recent Nightmare Blu was 7.1 DTHD although, I think, that was originally listed as PCM.

Soon find out, I suppose!

Disney's own sites are offering conflicting information, saying 7.1 PCM in one place (scroll through the menu on the left, click the SB BD cover, then "Tech Specs") and 7.1 DTS-HD MA in <a href="http://adisney.go.com/disneyvideos/anim ... another (select "About"--->Tech Specs)---TrueHD is the only format I haven't seen mentioned, at least officially.

is this where I can complain about the butchering of the song "Once Upon a Dream" that has been turned into a rock like song? Why are they doing this?

I probably won't buy the PE of this movie cause I already own the Special Edition that was released a few years ago. Why double dip?
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

I'll stick with the Special Edition, thanks.

I *might* buy the PE for my 4 year old niece, but she's trying to already grow out of Disney Princesses just because her 7 year old sister likes HSM.

But I think she'd still love Sleeping Beauty, cause we've watched that a few times at my house.

I think the most exciting reasons by far to double dip with the new release of Sleeping Beauty will be the restored picture that will finally show the entire uncropped picture, revealing the full artwork of this gorgeous film and the new sound mix.

The picture will be stunning and the description of the audio sounds promising. Hopefully the audio will include some bass this time. The releases before this one had practically no bass whatsoever.
