As I was setting my DVR up to record the VMAs, I saw that MTV is showing a half-hour show (twice today- check local listings) called "Britney's Greatest VMA Moments" or something similiar. Just FYI!

*edit* You can watch the show here:

Yay! She also won Best Pop Video and the coveted Video Of The Year. :D
I'm kinda glad she didn't perform, cause now she can really plan a great comeback performance/video. Her dancing in that new vid is good, but it needs to be great.
But yeah, she looked absolutely stunning. Wonderful, I'm so happy for her. :)

Yeah, I heard that too! Talk about pulling a Beyonce....
It'd be cool if she did that, I just wish Beyonce hadnt done it before, and called hers B'Day. Cause it would've been better on Britney haha.

Well, I'm glad Britney can't can't call hers B'Day, as to me it sounds like a dreadful title; Bday is a type of toilet here in England !

I'm undecided about it coming out so soon - of course I want new Britney music asap, but not at the risk of her not being 100% ready yet. And I would love LOADS of promotion for the album by Britney as well. Just hope shes ready for it all. I mean, she didnt promote Blackout at all, but look how successful it actually was; it gave two of the biggest singles of her career ! Imagine what could be achieved if she was better, and put her heart and soul into it!

Haha yeah a Bday is a toilet here in Australia here too, but no one ever says it anymore...
I agree, I hope she's 100% ready, but from seeing her at the VMAs, I reckon she is. And yeah, not only two, but three of her biggest singles, Break The Ice did well, and all three were No. 1 US Dance Club hits....
Radar would've done so well!

Apparantly, it has been confirmed that the album is coming out in December by OK! magazine. As Britney has been using OK! as her official mouthpiece for a while now, so I think I actually believe it !

Also, Britney has just done a photoshoot, with a Vogue photorapher ! He shot her for her last Vogue cover as well ... .. EXCITING !

Even though Britney had a photoshoot with the Vogue photographer, she's apparently not appearing in the magazine:

Britney Spears' Collaborators Promise New Album Will Be Her Real Comeback

Sean Garrett and Keri Hilson say they're pushing the pop star, musically and lyrically.
By Jennifer Vineyard

If Britney Spears' performance at last year's VMAs was a bad omen for her subsequent release of Blackout, it stands to reason that Brit's new album may be as promising as her successful appearance at the 2008 VMAs. And the producers of her new work in progress assure us that's the case.

"You always want to give her something she can feel intrigued by, because she's done so much," songwriter and producer Sean Garrett told MTV News. "She's had some incredible albums. She's been through so much, so you want to do things that will raise her eyebrows as well as her fans', so we're going to work really hard to give her something exceptionally special."

The singer has been popping in and out of recording sessions in Los Angeles and Las Vegas all summer, and she's been lining up a steady stream of collaborators for the new album, including Rodney Jerkins, Nate "Danjahandz" Hills, Keri Hilson and even Lil Jon.

Getting Spears' music back in the clubs is a priority, Garrett said, but he's also working on giving her songs with a longer shelf life than your average dance track.

"This time, we're going to try some different sounds," he said. "We're really trying to push the sound limits. We're definitely going to make sure it's hot, you know, great songs that fans will go crazy over, but I'm not just [aiming to] 'stay in the clubs.' If it's a ballad, a midtempo, fusing techno with hip-hop or whatever it is, what matters is that it has some sounds we've never heard before."

While Garrett wants to push Spears sonically, Hilson said she wants to push the singer lyrically and get some more meaningful songs on the album.

"Of course, everybody's giving her party smashes, and I've heard some of them, and they're great," Hilson said. "But I think we can dig a little deeper this time. I want it to feel a little more real and organic. That's where I want to go with her."

Hilson is due to sit down with Spears in the next week to get on the same page. "We need to figure it out," she said. "Sit down, have a conversation, and see what she's feeling at the moment, and take a bird's-eye view of that."

Beyond that, Hilson doesn't want to overplan her writing sessions with Spears. "Songwriting is one of the most unorthodox things in the world," she said. "Songs come from all sorts of different ways, places and times."

Garrett, meanwhile, is going to play his cards close to his chest for this project. "What's smart to do is not to tell anybody too much about it while it's happening," he said. "Don't tell anybody. Everything is so predictable these days, because the information is right there and no one is keeping secrets anymore. Remember how Michael Jackson used to be mysterious? That's what superstars should do."

And though Brit's collaborators won't spill the details, they will express confidence that we'll like what we hear, once we hear it.

"I'm sure it'll be great," Hilson said. "She's very focused."

"It'll be her real comeback," Garrett said. "At the end of the day, it's about the music, and this is incredible music."

I hope on the next album more work is done by Britney herself, and not left up to the producers/writers. I know there are probably a ton of tracks that we as fans have never heard that she actually wrote and possibly composed as she's always talking about playing the piano.

I have a feeling that due to what happened with "Blackout" and her lack of being able to promote it, we're going to get another club friendly album with radio friendly "hits" simply to get her music to be "HOT". I was hoping for something different - while I don't mind a "Hot" track or two, I was hoping for more ballads, and mid-tempo songs that aren't about dancing/sex as most of the songs on "Blackout" were - and I do think it was a great album - but i've been a fan since 98' and I just want more now out of her music - I hope I don't have to wait until her 7th album to get it - but as I said - I probably will have to because this 6th album is critical due to her "comeback".

I look forward to it anyway.

I totally agree with all of that. Blackout took me forever to fully embrace, but I do enjoy it now. Her first 3 albums, though, will probably forever be my favorites of hers, if for no other reason than my love of late '90s/early '00s teen pop. "In the Zone" & "Blackout" aren't bad albums by any means- I do enjoy them- but I just prefer the others.

BreatheHeavy.com wrote: Britney Planning Show In Vegas On New Year's Eve?

Britney is gearing up for the comeback of a lifetime! Now that it's confirmed the album will launch in December, reports of a tour are beginning to surface.

According to the Daily Mirror, Britney is preparing to make a "spectacular live comeback in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve!"

An inside source reveals Britney is discussing a performance with Palms Hotel owner George Maloof in Vegas. "The plan is that Britney will go on stage just before midnight, and she's told George she wants a cast of burlesque dancers and as many fireworks and special effects as he can afford."

"Britney has been recording her sixth album at Palms and she is good friends with George from way back. They are cooking up the idea of making a big bold statement by making her comeback on New Year's Eve. It's going to be the hottest ticket on the planet."

"The show at the Pearl Theatre in the Palms Resort And Casino will tell the world Britney's back," the source continues. "It will also kick off a world tour that I'm told will be bigger and better than anything she's done before."

Britney was last seen in Las Vegas just 2 weeks ago, as well as a trip in mid-June.
I would pay BIG money to see that! No lie, I'd probably be willing to cough up $500 for a decent ticket. I hope this is true!

AGHHHHHHHH !! !! A statement from Jive, from breatheheavy.com:

First Single "Womanizer" Is Slated To Hit Radio On September 22nd

Jive/Zomba recording artist Britney Spears announces her sixth studio album, Circus, set for release December 2nd. The first single from the album is titled "Womanizer" and was produced by the up-and-coming Atlanta production team The Outsyders. The album release date coincides with Spears' birthday.

On the heels of an MTV VMA awards sweep, where Britney walked away with three Moonmen awards for "Video of the Year," "Best Female" and "Best Pop Video" for "Piece of Me," Jive Records is preparing her latest album, Circus, a follow-up to her critically well received album, Blackout. For her latest effort, Britney has enlisted a stellar group of established producers/writers that include Dr. Luke (who wrote and produced the album's title track, "Circus"), Danja, Max Martin, Bloodshy & Avant and Guy Sigsworth (Madonna, Alanis Morissette, Bjork).

Britney Spears is one of the top-selling artists of the last decade, and to date, she has sold in excess of 62 million albums worldwide that include Baby One More Time (1999), Oops!...I Did It Again (2000), Britney (2001), In The Zone (2003), and Blackout (2007), eight #1 worldwide singles and four consecutive #1 albums.

The Zomba Label Group consists of record labels Jive, LaFace, Volcano, Verity, GospoCentric and Fo Yo Soul. These labels represent a varied group of artists including Justin Timberlake, R. Kelly, Usher, Tool, Ciara, Chris Brown, Pink, Britney Spears, OutKast, Kirk Franklin, Three Days Grace, 311, Nick Lachey, T-Pain, Byron Cage, Bullet For My Valentine, Buddy Guy, Living Things, Anthony Hamilton, Donnie McClurkin, John P. Kee, Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker, Marvin Sapp, Kelly Price, J. Moss and Backstreet Boys.
