Tower.com- Good Place to Buy DVDs? NEED OPINIONS!

Post by UmbrellaFish »

Okay.. so I've been looking around for the cheapest place to buy DVDs. So far this place, Tower.com (http://www.tower.com/), has the cheapest prices. HOWEVER, while it looks legit, I'm not entirely convinced... You've got to be careful. My big problem is "A Bug's Life". I've looked at it on other sites, but this one has a different cover art. Here:

But this is the cover I've seen on the web and at Barnes and Noble and Wal-Mart:

and I think they're the same releases.

So am I just being paranoid? Was the first cover just Promotional and the site never got around to updating it? The site says it's a Region 1 DVD but the cover could be from some where else.

Anyway... Basically, has anyone bought from here before, and is it a legit site? Help would be much appreciated! :D

Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure about the site but that 1st cover art was for the OLD CE of A Bug's Life. It's the same thing other than a kiddy game and Nemo Ads and newer previews that were added when Nemo was coming to theaters.

Hmm.. thanks.

It says the DVD was released on May 27th 2003 (my birthday, by the way, he he), just in time for Finding Nemo. So I suppose it could be the newer edition and they just have the older cover art. So that mystery seems to be solved.

This leads me to the last question: Is the site legitimate?

Tower.com is the official site for Tower Records, a retail music chain (like Sam Goody, FYE, etc.). So the site's legit. You won't find many Tower stores in the US anymore though, they went out of business, but the site is still legit and running (according to wiki, it's held by a separate entity).

Regarding A Bug's Life, they're just showing the old CE art for the new CE listing. The old CE is listed as well (release date November 23, 1999), but shows that it's not available (which makes sense as it's been replaced by the not-really-new-aside-from-new-promotional-stuff-for-Nemo CE from 2003).
