Special Guests / People I Sorta-Kinda Saw Live
•Bruce Springsteen -- He performed in the football stadium when I was in college. I didn't have tickets but I sat outside on my dorm balcony and listened to the show
•Jump, Little Children -- Waited for hours for their concert and then got really sick and had to leave before it started. But I did get to meet them and help them unload their tour bus!
•A variety of city symphony-orchestras at symphonic rock concerts
•Henry Cho, stand-up comic who was a part of the 2003 Amy Grant & Vince Gill Simply Christmas tour
•Kirk Cameron, THE MAN -- saw him as the narrator for Epcot's Candlelight Processional in 2007
•Melissa Peterman of "Reba", who appeared as a surprise guest performer at the Reba & Kelly; 2 Worlds, 2 Voices Tour
•Justin Kredible, a comedian, emcee, and magician who performed at the Jason Mraz Music, Magic & Make Peace Tour
•La Toya London, of "American Idol" fame -- I saw her perform in The Color Purple: The Musical
•Whoopi Goldberg -- saw her as the narrator for Epcot's Candlelight Processional in 2009
•Blue Öyster Cult -- they opened for Aerosmith in Tampa, FL on the Cocked, Locked, Ready to Rock Tour, but I was running late so I heard the end of their set outside but didn't actually see any of it
• I should also give a nod to the many small local bands and college a cappella groups I've seen in concert, which I won't list individually here

† I feel the need to point out that these ranged from bizarre to awful and I would never have seen them if not for the acts they were touring with.

Wow, I am pathetic...

I have only seen a few:

Hank Williams jr (when i was 9, my mom forced me b/c no one could babysit)... Wasn't bad but I fell asleep. I forgot who the headliners were.

Sheryl Crowe - won free tickets from radio station. Headliners were Fountains of Wayne and one other band whom I forgot the name of.

Matchbox 20 - Wonderful!!!! I had so much fun! Headliner was The All-American Rejects, and Sugar Ray.

I also saw No Doubt and John Mayer at River Stages over the years.

Loomis's list is astounding!!
Inigo: I do not mean to pry, but you don't by any chance happen to have six fingers on your right hand?
Westley: Do you always begin conversations this way?

Inigo: You seem a decent fellow. I hate to kill you.
Westley: You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die.

Hee hee hee....well, when I'm not here or watching DVDs, I'm off to gigs.

I hadn't counted it like that before, but not including "doubles", there were 68 gigs there (some of them were festivals though). And most of them are in the last 4 years :o

I think it just becomes part of your life, live music. It is addictive in a way. There is nothing like going to a pub or club, downing a glass or four and listening to some damn fine rock and roll.

I also think I forgot to mention The Vines. :)
GOGOinVegas wrote:+ Dozens of openers I dont really know
Yeah, my list would be even longer if I included all the openers as well.

Some great Aussie bands like:
Even (5 times); Friendly; Waikiki; Gerling; 1200 Techniques; D4 (well, they are a NZ band); Decoder Ring; Darth Vegas; Ther Morning After Girls (they are REALLY good); Gelbison; Neon; The Liars; John Butler Trio; The Tremors....
I didn't mention these ones above, because I didn't think you all would have heard of them. But you should try and check out some of their music.

I've also amended the list above to indicate which bands are Aussie band and they are all ones you should absolutely check out.

Bon Jovi, Jeff Healy and Elvis weren't my choice, my mom was into Bon Jovi and Elvis and wanted someone to go with and I got elected. I add them just to be complete.

I've actually been really lucky when it has come to gigs. People love touring Australia, especially in summer. The Strokes are interesting, because the first time I saw them it was before the release of their first record (they release it in Australia a little early, because of the tour, 2 days after saw them). They were actually out here OPENING for my favourite band, You Am I. It was this pissy little venue in Newtown, but a great show (freezing night though). The second one was a larger venue (the King of Leon opening for them!), and was awesome too.

White Stripes I've seen in small and large venues, but they rock wherever they go.

The YYY show (2nd time), was set to be the best show ever until she fell offstage :) That has actaully become quite a infamous Karen O moment, I understand...
