I'm beside myself with joy over finding Half a Sixpence (1967) on DVD today. I wasn't even looking for it, I just saw the spine and then felt all warm and fuzzy inside.

I also got Latter Days (2003), the film I originally intended to get when I went shopping this morning.

Today I got Sex And The City, season 3 on sale for $19.99 at FYE, and season 4 at FYE used for $17.99. I need to go back to get an exchange on season 4 though. The discs are scratched and the front cover is pretty much off (it's hanging by the top corner). :(

Just checked my mail today, and Disney Home Video sent me the standard DVD of College Road Trip! Slip cover, reward points, and all! I have no idea why, unless it's a thank you for folks who took part in their temporary consumer relations forum the past couple of months. I've gotten unrequested DVDs from them out of the blue before (Snow White and Bambi), but those were through Amazon for reviewing purposes and were received a week before the actual releases, so I don't think this was that sort of situation. Anyway, a really nice surprise since I hadn't bought that one yet.

Have you watched this yet? If so, did you like it? It's one of the few new non-Disney movies I'm interested in seeing, but I've read mixed reviews about it.

To add onto that, where did you find it used at that price?

I picked up the only available Canon Movie Tale I didn't have yet on DVD today at the mall, Rumpelstiltskin. It was at 2 for 9.99, so I also got the Care Bears Movie there, which I love. However, now I'm wondering if I should have gotten the Care Bears Movie there. It isn't the 20th (or is it 25th?) anniversary version, so maybe it's not restored the way that one supposedly is? Anyone know? I've already opened it anyway though, ugh...

The 25th Anniversary Edition is restored/remastered and contains a bonus episode from the series.

Anyway, the only noteworthy DVD purchase I've made is this:

I've bought other DVDs, but none worth reporting on besides this. :P

I've not done this for a while, but what the heck? why not? I'll let everyone see my embarrassing purchases.

The Scorpion King II: Blu-ray
Now, I don't know about you, but unlike those throw away prequels to "Star Wars" (as if anybody needed to see the origin of that bit-part Darth Vader on screen) ever since I watched the majestic motion picture that can only be called "The Mummy Returns" - for that was it's name - I was wondering just how did the Scorpion King come into being. It was a question that literally occupied my brain at all times, making me forget to cook, clean, work and bathe. I was a wreck, all because of the gaping "plot hole" in that fantastic film.

Thankfully, Universal in their wisdom quickly ended my suffering by releasing "The Scorpion King", "a roller-coaster of a movie" (apparently) which was supposed to answer all my Scropion King "Origin" type questions. And it did satisfy my curiosity at the time. But nagging questions still remained. Time lines will still there to be filled. Whole periods of the character's life were still unexplored. "The Scorpion King" movie for example only showed the character as a man. A man! What about all those questions I had about the character when he was a cocksure young teenager? THOSE QUESTIONS WERE NOT ANSWERED!

Upon deeper reflection I came to realise that the whole movie was pointless. Absolutely pointless! What's the point of doing a back story for a character if you don't show them as an arrogant teenager learning about the cruelty of life? I'll tell you now, THERE IS NO POINT! "The Scorpion King" was, therefore, pointless. Every origin needs the character to be a headstrong teenager learning their lessons about humanity.

But now, now thanks once more to Universal that period of the Scorpion King's life is exposed for all to view, absorb and (no doubt) worship! Yes, WORSHIP!

Oh, what's that? I've just been told (in no uncertain terms) that this film sucks.

John Oliver: Terrifying Times DVD
with John's Bugle buddy Andy Zaltzman too! Wheeee! Don't forget to check out the TimesOnline Bugle Podcast with John and Andy every week!
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
