Does anyone know if this will be on the US DVD of this new HSM2 release? Because I am a big L&S fan and got a major kick out of seeing this on the HSM1 anniversary special.

Thanks for posting that, NeoSuperBlissey! That was super cute!

As of right now, I'm not planning on double-dipping on the new 2-disc HSM2...I didn't double-dip for the Extended Edition of HSM, either...as much as I love the HSM films, I don't know if I see a need to double-dip...

Hitting stores on Sept. 23rd is the 2-Disc High School Musical 2: Deluxe Dance Edition. It includes dance tutorials to your favorite dances plus over 5 hours of bonus footage. The bonus features include:

Exclusive Sneak Peek at HSM3
High School Confidential: A virtual scrapbook including behind the scenes footage.
The Making of "HUMUHUMUNUKUNUKUAPUA’A"
Cast Favorites
On Location:
In the Kitchen: Explore the clubhouse kitchen with Lucas
All For One Music Video

If and when any of you get this, I'd be interested in reading your thoughts about it (and how often Corbin Bleu is in the bonus features!!!), since, as of now, I'm not planning on double-dipping.

Are there any bonus features for how to do the dances Matt? That's the only way I'd double dip is if I could learn them :P

Read Aaron's Review ;)

And I think I'm gonna have a heart attack. Disney can't be bothered to spruce up a couple of their better films, while a crappy DCOM gets promoted as having five hours of bonus features (five hours is very misleading, as they're counting the Karaoke and Sing-Along versions, so that's a good chunk of time right there.).

It definitely isn't crappy, just overhyped, which is common when Disney strikes a gold mine.

I agree with the review, though. One pet peeve I have is when sequels tend to ignore any continuity and development made in the first chapter, like when instead of getting a new agent to accompany Will Smith they had to ignore the development they made in MIB 1 and bring back Tommy Lee Jones. The story is so simple that they could have done it without forcing Tommy into the MIB.

HSM 2 does this, sadly. Everyone at the end of the first movie accepted who they are and Sharpay became nicer. The sequel throws that away. It would have been fine if Sharpay stayed a villain at the end of the first movie. Like "UGH! You may have won this time, but I'll get my revenge!" type deal.

But it was still a dumb fun movie that DOES work well with its intended audience (I saw this with my nephew and he LOVED IT).

I hope HSM 3 avoids the same issues (though not likely, since I heard Sharpay's song in the movie).

to answer your question, yes, they do teach you some of the steps, but not the whole dance and not all the songs. :)

I need to double check this, but the UK Blu-ray of this has...

21

yes

21

International Music Videos on the disc (and sadly not much else... no, that's a little unfair). Even the sing-along to the move section is just clips rather than the whole movie with subtitles for the singing (like on the Blu-ray Remix which does have 2 versions of the movie).

Oh and both HSM1 and HSM2 DDE on Blu-ray are W-I-D-E-S-C-R-E-E-N!
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
