This is something that has bugged me for years, so I thought I'd finally bring it up. the review screens are like, postage stamp sized. in today's day and age it looks kind of pathetic to me to see screens that small. especially with blu ray releases, but thats at least a bit more understandable.
Right now the only way to check out screens for new Disney releases is usually in topics comparing transfers. which is fine and all, but I don't think we should have to hunt down those topics whenever we want to see good representation of the transfer.
and while their not out yet, I hope that by the time we get Blu-ray Aladdin and the Lion King that we can view shots in their full resolution glory.
sorry, had to rant.
Why arent UD reviews screenshots higher res?

I don't use power dvd anymore, but the trial I had for it allowed me to take full res shots if I remember correctly.
but if even if not, there's always programs like VLC. any decent screenshot taking app will give your your full res.
and sure I could go elsewhwere, but UD has more variety of reviews I cant alwyas find anywhere else.

I'm not completely sure if I understand the question, but if you're talking about the screen captures embedded in the reviews linked from the main page, I don't think they're for resolution comparison, maybe color/lighting, but obviously not resolution.
Also, if I understand the purpose of the reviews correctly, it's to give a brief summary of the film itself, explain the bonus features (if there are any), tell you all the DVD specifications (aspect ratio, audio, pricing, subtitles, etc), tell you where the easter eggs are (or if there are any), and generally, tell you whether or not it's worth buying.
I think the caps are just there to show you a small preview of things such as the aspect ratio, the look of the bonus features, etc.

On occasion, some caps link to high-res images, but that's only if it's being compared to a former transfer (check out the caps in the A/V section of the The Aristocats: Special Edition), and even then, it depends on if the reviewer has both versions at hand to make caps from. Also, it's really up to Luke, who decides whether or not comparison caps are needed for a review, as he edits/formats all of them before they get posted. When I did a review for one of the "It's A Small World of Fun!" DVDs, I included a couple comparison caps for the "Johnny Appleseed" segment (as it was a rather different transfer that was in the Gold Collection DVD), but they ended up not being used. I put them in photobucket soon after, intending on using them in a post, but subsequently forgot about it until now.

The one on the top (windowboxed) is from Melody Time: Gold Classic Collection, while the one on the bottom is from It's A Small World of Fun!: Volume 3
