Dragon Ball Z Season Sets...; who collects them?

Post by Evil Genie Jafar »

Just wondering who here collects them.

I am.

I'm no DBZ fan but I like it somehow. Besides in my anime collection I always thought of having something of each genre. And since I didn't have action... and DBZ is a classic I thought of having it.

Then I found the first DBZ: remastered, digitally restored and best of all: almost 40 episodes for $30.

So of course I bought it!!!

PS

As said before, I'm no DBZ fan... as such I don't care that sets aren't full frame.

I have up until Season 4... and want to get Season 5 since this was the time when I stopped watching the series... and is kind of new to me.

I had to review The History of Trunks and Bardock: The Father of Goku double feature on Blu-ray recently, and it was honestly my first experience with anything from the various Dragon Ball series. Interesting, I'll admit, but definitely not to my taste. :P

I suppose you can't go wrong when the season sets are that price, though. ;) I've got a co-worker who collects the sets; said I'd let him have the Blu-ray too. Give it a good home, I say! :D

I'm collecting the boxsets. Not too happy about them being widescreen and the remastering is atrocious at times, especially at scenes where there is a lot of shaking. The outlining of the characters just seems to disappear or turn white. Watching the episodes is a new experience to me since I've only seen random episodes here and there with the original dub.

I've been collecting them. I'm not an avid fan--I always despised watching the episodes because the fights drug-on forever--but it's much easier to watch when you have all the episodes instead of waiting every day for twenty minutes with nothing major happening. I feel sorry for the real fans though, who had to buy individual DVDs of maybe three or four episodes each, just to have uncut and re-mastered season sets come out around 10 years later.

Hm I have 2 on vhs, one of them I don't watch at all these days it's pretty much 3 or 4 episodes of just fighting

Other than that I have one single disc dvd and that's about all I intend to have at the moment, I'd never buy the full sets because I'm not that big of a fan, but if I see a cheapie 5$ single disc with episodes that look good I might randomly buy it.
