magicalwands wrote:Are we just all being too hard on this trailer? Back then I bet a lot of us didn't watch many trailers, but only the movie itself. Since Disney is claiming this movie as "back to the classics" we are comparing it with our favorite old Disney movies. I don't think we should be looking back into the past, our expectations would be too high for The Princess and the Frog. We should all just see the movie for what it is and give our opinion if this can stand by itself as a timeless classic.
Bravo! magicalwands. We need more people like you posting around here.

Something I noticed about the logo:
Image
The logo looks very much like the Princess Dairies logo and both of them looks a lot like the old Disney Princess logo (The one in the time when TinkerBell was a Disney Princess and Pocahontas and Mulan weren't Princesses yet).

There's only so many ways you can write 'Princess' and it still be classic-looking and also have symmetrical balance.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"

I saw the trailer too just now. The frog's features really reminded me of Sebastian the crab from The little Mermaid. Anybody else feel that way too, or is it just me? :D

Yes, that firefly was ugly. But who knows if he will even be in the main feature...

Yeah, escpially his expression after Tiana last kiss.
Tiana's expression after her last kiss reminds me of Mulan.
In the orginial Frog Prince fairy tale did the Princess had to kiss him on the lips? it was supposed to be a true love's kiss?.

don't know how many of you noticed this but that is the EXACT same frog as in ENCHANTED. The one that jumps in the sink and pops up with the crown on it.

How about:
- Snow White - apple
- Cinderella - strawberry
- Aurora - plum
- Ariel - peach
- Belle - cherry
- Jasmine - banana
- Pocahontas - blueberry
- Mulan - mango

:D

I think there are Princess yogurts already.
But for the fun:
Aurora-Berries.
Cinderella-Pumpkin.
Snow White-Apple.
Ariel-Starfish.
Belle-Peach.
Jasmine-Coconut.
Pocahontas-Corn.
Mulan-Kiwi.
Giselle-Strawberry.
Tiana-Chocolate.
And if you want:
Rapunzel-Lettuce.
Merida-Banana.
And the logos are similar, look at the way they"re written, how big the P and the last S bigger then the others,if you don't think it's similar then you don't have imagination at all.

I don't really see what everyone is saying about it looking too cartoony. I think the characters are drawn very well and so far it reminds me a lot of the what we now call classics of the 90's. Watch Ariel and Aladdin's face movements and tell me they aren't "Cartoony".

I'm still trying to decide on the firefly.

I'm also still undecided on the song being sung....

I don't really see it :? I know it sounds weird, but the frog reminds me of Bruno Campos, especially his eyes.

hahahahahahahahhahahahah!

Well...I think I would be quite curious to know what Starfish flavored yogurt taste like! Though I'm sure it doesn't taste too spectacular!

Anyways, I think all cartoon frogs are going to look somewhat similar. So maybe its more coincidence...Oh except those frogs on Don Bluths Thumbelina...there interesting looking Frogs.
