That's sad. Raven is such a Disney girl. Granted, I'm one of Hollywood Records' biggest fans, and I didn't buy either Raven album. I did download her Disneymania songs and "Double Dutch Bus". If all of her music was as poppy as "Double Dutch Bus", I'd buy her albums. There's not as big of a market for teen R&B than there is for teen pop, I guess. Poor Raven. I feel so bad. I feel like it's partly my fault. I like Raven, and I like how she has made music that she has wanted to make, but it's just not my type of music.
Okay, so, I've been doing my research, and apparently Raven had originally signed a 2-record deal with Hollywood Records. As this blog-responder on that Live Journal page wrote:
"she wasn't dropped. She finished her contract and the label decided not to renew it."
That makes more sense...if she only had a 2-record deal, then she wasn't "dropped", she just wasn't "renewed". Still stinks, though.
Poor raven. I have always felt she got the short end of the Disney teen sensation straw. Too bad to because she was such a great actress and role model. Maybe if she had put her album aside for a bit and participated in Cheetah Girls 3 this might not have happened. Cheetah Girls 3 should not have been made with out her. Hopefully she is mentioned in it and doesn't end up like maranda in the Lizzie McGuire movie.
