Finally. My boyfriend and I were just talking the other day about how it's been forever...

This will probably be the last season I buy on DVD as the other seasons beyond 11 are not memorable for me.

For me Season 10 was the last season to buy. Welcome to Blunderdome was the season opener and the moment the Simpsons jumped the shark.

I know it's not confirmation, but I'm glad that at least we have some word of a possible release for seaon 11. :D

I agree that I think the show did sort of jump the shark during this season, and the quality really dipped down until about season 15 when I thought they were getting better. But I think that there are still a few episodes from those seasons in which I really like and probably will get it anyway.

I'm going to go to the end... There are still good episodes in the newer seasons.

Since the movie "took the place" of when Season 11 should've been released... I wish they made it a little.. better.

I mean, the DVD we got was good and all, but I know there's got to be tons of cut footage (like Sideshow Bob's stuff) and all kinds of goodies. I'm hoping they release a special edition sometime soon.

And I will continue to buy the season sets all the way to the end. I know the show isn't as good as it was from seasons 1-8 but I don't think it's BAD.
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

rexcrk, I agree with everything you said. I was surprised they didn't throw more bonus features on the Blu-Ray as a ploy to get people to upgrade. We could have easily got a two disc set.

And ditto for the past few seasons. The quality has dipped some, I don't think anyone will deny it, but it's still good. I don't know if anyone caught this season's episode "E Pluribus Wiggum" in which Ralph becomes a write-in candidate for president, but it was really quite funny. Maybe not like, season five / six funny, but still funnier and better written than any episode of "Family Guy".

I wasn't a big fan of that Ralph episode, but only because I'm not a big fan political humor in general, but it was still good, and yes still better than Family Guy.

Hooray! Season 11 is my all time favorite season, with "Behind the Laughter" being my all time favorite episode.

Looks like there will be a regular edition and a Krusty's head packaging for it too.

Source?

I ask only because in Matt Groening's intro in season 10 he says it's the last set to come packaged as a head box.

Krusty Head packaging? Sweet!

Beyond that, though, I couldn't really think of characters deserving of their own "head" packaging...

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

What about Sideshow Bob, Millhouse, Chief Wiggum, Grandpa Simpson, Selma/Patty, Flanders, Apu, Mr. Burns, Comic Book Guy, Moe, Smithers, Ralph Wiggum, Edna Krabappel, Otto Mann, Groundskeeper Willie, Principal Skinner, Santa's Little Helper, Snowball, Itchy/Scratchy, etc.???

I consider these characters classic. Most if not all of these, could pull off being a "head."

I actually prefer the regular editions. They look better on the shelf IMO.

Grandpa Simpson, MAYBE...

Itchy and Scratchy would work, as well... I think the rest wouldn't be instantly recognizable to casual viewers as a "SIMPSONS" set, and once you start putting minor characters, where do you stop? I'm sure there would be a lot of fans of certain characters who would be miffed that their favorites DIDN'T get a head, while other "lesser characters" did.

I have to point out that casual viewers are not buying the sets at this point, maybe for the first few sets. I mean could you imagine someone who never purchased seasons 1-10, walking in to a Best Buy and saying, "I would like season 11 of 'The Simpsons'". That would be too random. There are always exceptions, but they could put any character on the boxes (even a one time guest star) and they will still sell like crazy.

Also, based on Fox's release schedule for this show, I don't think anyone will be mad at who is put on the box as long as they are released. I wonder how much faster these would get put out if there wasn't a commentary for each episode. Those are something I would gladly give up if it meant they would come out faster.
