Mexico is getting its own theatrical HSM, which looks like a mix of HSM & HSM2...hmmm....I was watching the trailer in disbelief? Surely they've seen the dubbed HSM movies. Couldn't Disney use its resources to make a brand-new movie?
What are your thoughts?
remember a couple of months ago I opened a thread telling you guys about an American Idol type TV contest called High School Musical: La Seleccion? Well the winners got to play the Troy and Gabriella of Mexico; the movie actually looks much better than I expected! I'm actually exited for this. The preview plays none stop on Disney Channel Mexico, so I guess we can expect it soon. I am somehow disapointed that they aren't using actual HSM songs (may be they're just not on the preview to showcase the new material), I am disapointed on the winners of the show though, i was rooting for other people, Cristobal (Troy) is actually the most talented of the guys so I can't complain too much. Gabriella should have been played by Fabiola though, and I don't remember her even being on the preview (she did get to sing Ever Ever After for the Mexican release of Enchanted though...so I guess her talent won't go wasted).
Anyway, as soon as this is released to Mexican theaters, i'll tell you all about it.
rs_milo_whatever, I do remember you telling us about that reality show...that's cool, then, that this will be the outcome! Definitely let us know how it is!!!
Here's a US commercial for the "High School Musical 3: Senior Year First Look":
(by the way i just learned that the movie will be realeased Sep. 5, and that it was originally based on the first HSM, but as the script went on,
it ended up being based on two books of the book series, Battle of The Bands and the other one i do not know but it happens inbetween HSMs)
woow!!! that's for the US? we hardly get stuff like that, and so soon?

here in The Netherlands we're getting it on the 14th!
That link has both a sneak peak at the full trailer (which will air tomorrow night on Disney Channel, and a sneak peak will be aired during ABC Family's airing of Picture This) and the first song released from HSM3, "Now or Never"!!!!!!!!
The movie looks WONDERFUL and I like the song...to me, it seems like a combination of "Getcha Head in the Game" and "We're All in This Together". It's not my favorite HSM song- I know that other songs will be better, but it's a good song!

When I first looked at it, I knew exactly what you were thinking, and boy did hope you were right (that'd be so awkwardly hilarious)! But, it's fairly obvious that they're just oddly-patterned shorts. Do notice though, that in true Ryan fasion, they are being worn to match the graduation outfit.
I actually thought it was actually a skirt, seeing your comment I figured it would be something like that,
and since I was already thinking it,it wasn't too hard to believe.
Given the tie and the black jacket, it actually looks like a kilt and traditional Scottish national dress to me. I guess Ryan will discover some of his ancestors came from Scotland or something.
