. Honestly, I've never actually seen Sleeping Beauty. I only saw the scene with the dragon as part of a special called Disney's Halloween Treat. I do plan to rent it when the PE comes out, though.

Of course she plays the part of a Princess, and very well! She is gifted with beauty and song, and is very graceful, too. I will not accept Andalasia as the same kind of fairy tale place as the other kingdoms of Disney's full-length animated fairy tales, because those kingdoms were meant to be somewhere in real places, like Germany, France, and the Middle East.
But I do accept Giselle as her own character, and as a Disney heroine.

As for Pocahontas, I don't think the daughter of a chief would be called a princess; the chief is called simply "chief", not "king". In the first Pocahontas movie they never call her a princess, but in the second movie her father does call her a princess. Although I think that's cute, I think the word may have just been added there because it's a Disney movie; had it been a movie made by the people in charge of the big movies and not the sequel/direct-to-home video studios, they'd probably would have a more carefully chosen dialogue.
