We don't know if they are not iPod compatible BUT because Fox discs have been and you know Steve Jobs's new found Disney job and stock I think they may try it.

Who says anyone is "pretending" to like it ? What makes "emo wannabes" any less likely to be a "real fan" than you ?

I would say the reason Nightmare Before Christmas is such a success with the Hot Topic crowd is because it is something that they can relate to and that it is more their style. You're comment is like saying.... It sickens me how much young girls pretend to like Cinderella so much; it makes it hard for a real fan to like it.

You're obviously not a "real fan" if you no longer like something because it appeals to a group of people that you have a problem with.

This comes out the same day, I wonder what it is and what makes it $179.99.
I came across it at Bestbuy.com and was wondering the same thing

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp ... id=1879123

Additionally, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment is also offering Nightmare buffs the opportunity to purchase a limited release of the Ultimate Collector’s Edition DVD Set featuring an individually numbered hand-painted bust of Jack Skellington in all his gory glory equipped with a Jack’s “Sandy Claws” hat and beard, a sound chip that plays memorable lines from the film and a letter of authenticity. Retail will be $179.99. A Blu-ray release will also be available for $39.99 with an exclusive Introduction by Tim Burton

I am not a real big fan of Nightmare Before Christmas. But with this release i might just give it a shot. Ohh and did anyone else notice how bluray was first on the "coming to Disney _____" list in the trailer. I guess that regular dvd is almost officially dead in Disney's eyes. I HATE BLURAY :x

Well, I know what's NOT going to be in the CE:

-Audio Commentary with Henry Selick
-Animation Tests
-5.1 DTS

Still, I'm very happy witht his new CE! And who knows, maybe the Animation Tests can be included as Easter Eggs. ;)

There never was an audio commentary with just Henry Selick.

The one on the SE DVD is ported over from the laserdisc, and featured Henry Selick and cinematographer Pete Kozachik. I have a feeling that the new CE's commentary is a replacement for this one, which sucks as it is a rather good track.

And if the CE version of "The Worlds of TB's TNBC" is anything like the version on the SE, the animation tests are likely to still be included.

What I'm really concerned about are the laserdisc featurettes that didn't appear on the SE, and I'm hoping will appear on the CE:

The Process
The Test
The Proof Of Concept
The Screenplay
The Studio
The Sets & Props

The ones that appeared on the SE DVD are:
The Idea (titled "The Beginning" in the DVD, but I'm assuming it's the same thing)
The Songs (titled "Music" in the DVD, again assuming it's the same)
The Storyboards
The Art Direction
The Characters (titled "Puppets" in the DVD, and once again, assuming it's the same featurette)
The Animation

And of course, there are the early pencil tests which weren't transferred from laserdisc to DVD, as well as the non-Disney material from Selick: short films, MTV interstitials, and "Slow Bob and the Lower Dimensions".

Why? They're still doing a new 2 disc DVD version at the same time? How can DVD be "dead" when they're going to the effort of upgrading the current DVD.

Granted, I don't count most new DVD releases from Disney as "upgrades", but this time they are going to the effort.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

i believe that award goes to pocahontas special edition.
Alongside Hunchback of Notre Dame, quasi looks more deformed on the cover than he does in the movie :D

Will this new version show the original Touchstone movie or is nothing more to see about this and it is now a Walt Disney Pictures release?

That's the most boring cover art in the world. Did all the professional cover makers walk out? It's looks like the result of someone experimenting with Photoshop for the first time. An elephant with a paint set could make a better one!

So the movie won't be a Touchstone movie anymore?

Nope.
And Disney IS Touchstone, they just used to promote themselfs as Touchstone when they released darker movies, like this one, even Roger Rabbit was promoted as Touchstone.

Next up....

I made this not as much for a dvd cover
(notice the absence of text!)
but perhaps an insert to reveal the extra's or something

The thingies around our ''lovebirds'', as well as the circle that surrounds them symbolize an ice-crystal flowing in snow

Hope y'all like it
