This time around, I didn't think the dance-along for HSM 2 that aired on Disney Channel was as good as the first dance-along anyway. Unless you really want the dance-along, I would skip it too.
So no 2-Disc Set and no Extra Features?

SKIP! :)

ooh wait lol i wasn't talking like it was official haha

I'm not sure all the same bonus features from the first release will be on the new one, I don't know. Doesn't seem like it's a worthwhile release anyways, definitely not if all of the first release's extras aren't on this one. what more bonus features other than the dance-along could they add to make this worth another purchase?

lol also what's up with that cover? the outfits vanessa and ashley are wearing look photoshopped on just so they have the whole "blue theme"

I'm not sure if I believe this or not.

Did the Remix Edition even sell well?

Why Disney can't make 2 discs versions of Enchanted and Pixar films and re-release films like Hercules and The Black Cauldron insted of making 10 version of the same High School Musical films? I mean,High School Musical and High School Musical 2 has 2 discs editions, why making more editions? I like High School Musical films but releasing 10 edition of the same movie? they ran out of movies? there's plenty of other who can have 2 discs editions.
And thanks for the cover,Jrboy, but what the edition? new features? but the cover is pretty :D.

Actually, High School Musical 2 doesn't have a two disc edition yet, which is why they're releasing this.

What? even High School Musical 2 don't have a 2 discs? :o this is weird,so I guess it makes sense to release this but it's weird that the original release don't have 2 discs.
So what does have 2 discs sets? Hannah Montana DVDs?.

No it makes perfect sense in Disney-Land. Get the suckers to buy it twice. Here that Ker-ching? Every time a cash register rings, a Disney Fairy gets its wings.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

You think they try make people move to Blu-Ray? (I don't think that whould happen until the DVD will die or the Blu-Ray might die first).

No I think they just don't care in this case (and in general). HSM2 was released to cash-in on the craze. Now they're going back to "revisit" it. If HSM2 is getting a new DVD, it will be getting a new Blu-ray too.

Could be,thought a lot of movies doesnt get 2 discs edition lately (Arsitocats,Pixar movies,Sword In The Stone,Enchanted and more).
Actually I think that HSM2 was better then the first thought the first was also really great (Maybe because HSM2 was about summer,my favorite time of the year).

The first release was great as it was, now there's another 2-disc out.. lol and i believe it since i'm sure they'll want to cash in on buzz for the third movie

So it is 2 discs? if it is,then again,I don't see why Disney should release the same film in 10 different edition with 2 discs.

lol well to clear things up:

1) High School Musical 1, 1-disc, original release
3) High School Musical 1: 2-Disc Remix Edition, as jrboy posted, released after HSM 1 was a huge success, so this one was understandable

3) High School Musical Concert

4) High School Musical 2 Extended Edition ("Extended" because of the addition of a musical number not seen in the original broadcast)
and now the new 5) HSM 2 2-Disc Dance Edition out in September

Those are all the editions out.

So HSM 1 got another release, it's fitting the second one does, but the first HSM 2 release was fine as it was, this new one just looks like it has the dance-along
