SAME QUALITY on the new Sword in the Stone DVD!

Post by TonyWDA »

I can't post any pictures yet. But since UD didn't get to you guys yet, I will.
I got the DVD, and it is the EXACT COPY of what we got in the GC DVD. I not surprised, I just pointing it out, because I had a feeling this would happen. :x

Cool, thanks! The newer one has a bit of sharper image, but still.

I watched my Gold Collection disc a few days ago, and I don't really think it needs to be sharper. It might look too or artificially sharp, as a result.

At least Sword In The Stone got a better transfer than some movies to begin with. Some of Disney's Gold Collection DVDs were just transfers from LaserDiscs! Picture quality on early copies of The Jungle Book and Pinocchio was awful, so I'm just glad that the quality of Sword In The Stone is very good.

Don't get me wrong, it's great. It's just when you hear "re-release" you expect something new. i probably expected something TOO miraculous is all.

I know what you mean. If the transfer is the same and the bonus features are basically the same, why even bother?

Thanks so much for these screencaps comparisons to both the GC and 45th Anniversary edition. I do have the movie recorded off of Toon Disney a year ago before the 45th Aniiversary DVD was released. It does have the same thing except the Toon Disney logo watermark was shown on the bottom left of the screen.

I am so glad I did not waste my money! As I did with the Winnie The Pooh Re-release! :(
