Guess who's coming to dinner?
I had never seen this one, so I caught it today when it was on TV and I have to say it really is as good as people always tell you. The last scene when Spencer Tracy deliver his last monologue ever in a movie is even more moving thinking that this is the last thing he ever shot and that he died only 2 weeks later.

Captain John Smith and Pocahontas- Watched this on TCM last night, and I'm a big Pocahontas/John Smith/Jamestown history buff, and I couldn't help but laugh throughout this movie. "Pocahontas like pretty beads." "Pocahontas don't like pretty beads." "All pretty girls like pretty beads" "Let Pocahontas go." "Let Pocahontas go." "Let Pocahontas go.... blah blah blah...

Camp Rock- Surpisingly... good. I actually liked it!

Funny Face
Lovely movie and surprisingly good chemistry between Astaire and Hepburn who sing and dance wonderfully in this feel-good musical. The costumes are more than beautiful and classic New Look.

I Married a Witch- Not terrible. Not spectacular. But good. On a rate from one to ten, I'd give it a 7.

Spirited Away- I've seen it a few times, but this was the first time I payed enough attention to the plot to actually understand it. I'm thinking about picking this up, along with Kiki's Delivery Service, one of my childhood favorites.

Freaky Friday (2003) - Jamie Lee Curtis is hilarious in this! Lindsay was good too, but I never really find myself laughing at her jokes. Curtis definitely makes this one worth watching.

Camp Rock - Everything about it was terrible, but I loved every minute of it. :P And I like how they advertise this like it's all about the Hoenas Brothers, when they're hardly even in it...except for the one with massive eyebrows.

The Love Guru - How the hell did this flop?! It was great! Just when I thought this would be a major comeback film for Mike Meyers, I end up feeling bad for the guy. They promoted the hell out of this film and it went nowhere, which is unfortunate. Either way, it was fantastic and I'll definitely be picking it up on DVD.

Do you not like the JONAS Brothers? They are so not hoes! It is true that they were a huge marketing point of the film. Did you know that Disney wanted to use just one Jonas Brother (they decided on Joe), but they're dad said that all of them would have to be in it, or none could be. So I think that Disney just did the least they could with Kevin & Nick to please Papa Jonas.

And, I haven't seen "The Love Guru", so I can't judge a movie by its marketing, but it looked stupid. Like when Mike Myers was on "American Idol"...maybe it was just poorly marketed, but it looked like a stupid movie. Granted, even if it looked good, I'd probably not want to see it, but it just didn't look good. But I'm glad you liked it and that it looked better than what the advertisements made it out to be.

Haha, I knew this would get a response from you, Amers! :P

It's not so much that I hate them, but I definitely wouldn't call myself a fan. I just like to make fun of them. I don't really know why...:P

HOENESS BROTHERS! HOENESS BROTHERS! HOENESS BROTHERS!

:D

That's interesting, but it somehow doesn't surprise me. Disney is a pretty shallow company as of late. So wanting to use the best looking of the three Jonas Brothers for their marketing campaign (and ONLY the best looking of the three) doesn't come as much of a shock to me. Though it is unfortunate. Jonas fans don't want ONE Jonas Brother...they want all three.

People have to have an acquired taste for that sort of humor, and I could understand why people would think it was stupid. I don't know why, but I just love Mike Meyers! :P

By the way, (though I hate to get conversational) how are you, Amy? I haven't talked to you in a while.

Just this night I watched Dumbo on my newly purchases DVD.
By the way, there was a sneak peak of "Dumbo II", a movie project which seemed pretty far advanced. Anyone know this DTV-sequel is still going through? Not that I'm really interested in buying, story seems a little silly to me.

.... uhhh...looked at an older threath on this issue. Seemed to be cancelled. Not that I'm sorry about it!

Wall-E

Another, and in my opinion the best, masterpiece from Pixar Studios. There was nothing I didn't like about this movie. If ever there were an animated film that could win Best Picture at the Oscars it is Wall-E.

5/5 Stars

lol

It's interesting you mention the "best looking of the three"...that definitely depends on the fan! And we don't just like them for their looks, FYI! I think that Kevin is the best looking (I mean, he's my favorite overall), and Nick seems to be the most "popular"- I think he is because he's the youngest and they have a lot of younger fans, so they like the one closest in age, to make their hopes of marrying him seem closer to coming true!

And, I'll send you a message so we don't make this the Cameron-&-Amy-have-a-conversation thread! :)

Oh, and to keep on-topic, the last movie I saw was WALL-E!!!!!

Kiss Me Kate...there were a little too many cuts/changes from the stage show to make me LOVE this film. But Ann Miller & Tommy Rall's (what a hunk!) dances were FABULOUS!!!!
