I searched around and could not find a thread on the amazing singer. So here we have the official thread for Selena. Is anyone else here into Selena's music? If so this is where to post it.
I just recently began listening to Selena's music because of the movie. I knew of her music but never listened to it. Now I can't stop listening to it. Her music is amazing. My fav. song from her is el chio del aparmento 512. It's so upbeat and just fun to listen to. Her best song in Engligh had to be I could fall in love. It makes me think of someone and has a special place in my heart.
R.I.P. Selena. We all miss you!!

How odd ... I was just listening to Baila Esta Cumbia on my iPod LOLOLOL ...
Selena is the best ... a good example of a life cut short in its prime ...
El Chico Del Apartamento 512 is such a great song ... as is I Could Fall In Love ...
Other good songs are La Carcacha, Bidi Bidi Bom Bom, La Llamada, Como La Flor, Techno Cumbia, Fotos y Recuerdos, No Me Queda Mas, Amor Prohibido, El Toro Relajo and Dreaming of You ...
Also the Cumbia Medley and Disco Medley from the movie's soundtrack are fantastic ...
On Univision they sometimes re-air her final concert around the time of her death to honor her life and her music ...

I own a couple Selena CDs ... I was a fan of her music way before the movie came out ... I remember watching her sing live on television many times ... She was a phenomenal performer that really connected with her fans ...potterrules93 wrote:what do you think is the best album(s) of selena to buy. i am thinking of buying selena:ones but then i saw selena forever which is a 3 disk set. but some of the songs are dropped. should i get both or is there a better collection avaible?

Wow, i never expected to find a thread about Selena in UD.
I used to live in the North of Mexico; Monterrey to be exact (just for reference, in the movie Monterrey is the Mexican city Selena visits and gicves a concert) and her music was just everywhere! I remember the time of her death too. I can't imagine where her career would have gone. She was described as the Mexican Madonna, so you can imagine how hectic it was in Mexico around the time of her death.
Did anyone here, know there is a musical play about her life playing in Mexico? Of course it uses Selena's own music. I was never a big fan, but I would very much like to see this show.
