Info on Disney Movie Club

Post by Jan<3 »

I was just wondering if anyone here is part of this? Does it really work? Do you really only have to pay $8 for 4 movies? Can someone give me a detailed story of what happened with them. How does one have to pay? How long do the movies take? Are there any flaws in the movies? Do they come with slip covers? Lol, anything that can be told.....

There are several threads below that cover this topic. Most of the regulars on this board are indeed member of the Club...or have been.

I joined about a year ago. I received an opportunity to join and get 5 DVD's for a total of $1 when paying with my Disney Chase Visa card. By joining I agreed to buy 4 more at full price. At the time I got my first 5 movies for $1 I could but my first regular movie at $15. So, I got six DVD's for $16 and no shipping, with just three more to buy. I waited to buy my three DVD's when they offered free shipping again. You have to buy them at full price so they were $21.95 each. After my committment was fullfilled, I was a VIP member and they offered me a buy 1 get 5 more at half price deal with a free pin. So, I bought 6 more movies.

You should be paying for this with a credit card, but I believe they take other forms of payment. I don't know...I use the credit card which they keep on file. Every month they will send you the featured DVD title unless you tell them not to send it. If they send it to you, they bill your credit card on file.

The movies take about 7-10 days to arrive. Sometimes quicker.

No flaws in the movies. Some slip covers. I ordered Cars, Winnie the Pooh, Meet the Robinsons, Ratatoulie, and they all came with slip covers. I also ordered Peter Pan, and there was no slip cover. I don't really care about slip covers, so I don't pay much attention to that. (But I must say that the Meet the Robinsons slip cover is very cool.)

Check out all of the other threads to see more details about people's experience.

I paid about the same initail price, but i chose the pay by money order option which is very slow, sad to say. They handkey the money order payments and sometimes it takes two weeks after they recieve my money order for them to post it. This happened a couple of times and I called a cast member and since then my payments have been posted 5 days after i mailed them. No defective dvds, but i did have an order that was lost in the mail, and they sent the order again with the signature option. it's a great club but nothing's perfect. :goofy:
