Well, that's sorely disappointing. People on HomeTheaterForum.com keep saying how unrealistic it is to expect worthwhile supplements on this release since Beetlejuice is not a culturally significant film in WB's library. That's not the point, however. The film has gained a huge cult fanbase over the years, inspired an animated series, is constantly shown on television, and every single year during their Q&A sessions, people would always ask about a SE for this film. WB knows how many people have wanted a re-release, and this is a slap in the face to them. We're not asking for a Blade Runner type of re-release. Heck, even though I'd like a 2-disc for this, I'm not even asking that. Just give us a commentary track, some sort "making of", a gallery, and any deleted scenes that may exist. That's it. Those features alongside the music-only track, trailer, and TV episodes would make for a very satisfying SE. Outside of the restoration (which BETTER be spectacular), WB put no effort into this. Isn't there at least some sort of EPK special lying around somewhere that could've made it onto this release? WB is starting to become like Disney: when they're good, they're amazing, and when they're bad, they're horrendous. They better not louse up An American in Paris or Gigi, but then those films are more "culturally significant," so that's probably where the budgets are going to.

An American In Paris and Gigi are culturally significant so they well get the grand treatment, unlike Beetlejuice.

Wasn't the old release non-anamorphic (and in a snapper case, to boot!)

If nothing else, that is good enough reason to upgrade... I actually only have it on Laserdisc, so this release will be a good reason to finally pick up the film.

I might double dip on this one.

Best part when Beetlejuice yells "Nice f#@$ing model!" and kicks the tree over. 2nd best part: "Attention K-Mart shoppers!"
