I just bought a new black 80Gb iPod! It's my first "big" purchase since I've started working, so I'm excited. Plus, it's nice having something that will hold and play all of my songs, unlike the crappy mp3 player I had before. Now if the earbuds would stay in my ears...
I also ordered a pink silicon case for it. So until it arrives I'm going to be so careful not to scratch the screen!

I got 2 new pets. 2 mice. One was from a few weeks ago. I got a little white mouse to feed my snake and the snake wasn't hungry that day, so I figured I would try the next day. I put the mouse in a tank with food and water and went to work. I came home and my daughter is playing with it, and named it Phoenix, and it likes her. So I gave her a 10 gallon tank and she set up a cage for the mouse in her room. Then last weekend, she was whining because Phoenix looked lonely. I went into the bedroom, and yeah, she looked very sad. Mice are social animals. So I went I bought her a male.
I know this may sound sick to some of you, but I'll feed their babies to the snake and dragon. It will be cheaper for me. $1.29 a mouse, 2+ mice a week, it adds up.

I just noticed that in your signature, TSoD- you thought that that was just an "Ehh" book? I loved it! I finished it faster than I've ever finished a book in my life! I haven't read it since 10th grade, I think, but it's on my current To-Read list. I loved it!TheSequelOfDisney wrote:Current Reading Assignment: "Ethan Frome" by Edith Wharton - Finished: "Ehh"
And "The Scarlet Letter" is another really good book!

Well, I don't want to get too off topic, but I thought that it was pretty boring. I mean, it was pretty much a big soap opera in which Mattie/Ethan kept on say "I wish we could be together! Let's commit suicide!!!!!!!!!!" It was just really boring to me and I have to give a presentation on it tomorrow or Monday so I don't know how that it going to go. The good thing is that there is another person in the group so I don't have to talk about it all by myself (God forbid). Well, if you want to talk more just email me so we can get back on topic.blackcauldron85 wrote:I just noticed that in your signature, TSoD- you thought that that was just an "Ehh" book? I loved it! Jumping in on the off-topicness...
Plus, it's a really great and demented soap opera.
And going back to the topic of an "other item" I bought.
Well...a few days ago I bought some bubble gum. But that's about it.

"Antigone" is best understood when it's within the context of all three Theban plays ("Oedipus the King/Oedipus Rex/Oedipus Tyrannus", "Oedipus at Colonus", and "Antigone"). It's a masterful tragedy about free will versus the will of the gods, and how even the simplest of actions can cause extreme consequences. The interfamilial politics and their hubris is also a recurring theme, as each one of them meets a downfall that is partly their own undoing. And the sheer complexity of Antigone herself is worth reading into a bit more.In T-SoD's siggy he wrote:Current Reading Assignment: "Antigone" by Sophocles - Finished: Could Anyone Possibly Say Anything Good About This?.....

Picked up a fully functioning Nintendo Entertainment System today, along with the Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt game for $17.99 at a local thrift store. Tomorrow I'll be checking out every yard sale and thrift shop in town for more games.
I love retro gaming. I'll take the NES over something like the PS3 any day.

I got a new phone today. Actually it was my dad's new phone, he got a free uprade at Wal-Mart yesterday. However, my dad's totally technologically illiterate and couldn't use the more advanced phone, and my phone broke in half last night, so we switched Sim cards. Now I have a cool, new Sony Ericsson phone and my dad's back to the Nokia he actually knows how to use. I'm fairly sure that it's legal to do that, lol.
